My elderly mother who is over 80 years old with stage four cancer and undergoing chemo therapy has been without a water heater for 9 days. American Home Shield gave her the run around for 9 days, promising that a plumber will be there to replace her water heater.
For a healthy person, 9 days to wait for a plumber is unacceptable! The representative on the phone told me, had they known my mother’s condition they would have expedited the order. Really? You expect “healthy” people to wait 9 days for service, let alone a person with stage four cancer?
Let me tell you what I think happened... My mother, who speaks English with a heavy accent was most likely disregarded. She was casted off as someone not important. The representative most likely “filed” her contract number as non-urgent.
Now that was insulting. What is the point of having this service, they are charging her over $400 for a new water heater, inwhich my husband could have installed if for less? For those who are considering purchasing AHS, you are better off saving your money and sanity.
This company should be ashamed by the ill treatment towards the elderly, the sick, and those who speak with an accent. This service is worthless!
