Having had problems with water heater, leaking shower, garage door, and refrigerator door in a house we purchased I have had an adequate trial of AHS -- according to AHS, not a single one of these problems was "covered" under the warranty.AHS has carefully sculpted their coverage so narrowly that they can evade the majority of costs -- so narrowly that common and routine issues you are likely to face will not be covered.

The warranty is no such thing. I strongly recommend taking the 5 or $600 and setting it aside for yearly routine costs.

They should be investigated!It's a massive scam.

If you are disgusted with AHS's business tactics, customer relations AND DENIAL OF TRUE, VALID CLAIMS (ie: Breach of Contract)....

Here's some info:

If you're seeking CEO David Crawford's voicemail - here's how.

Dial 1-866-305-0259 as stated above. When the phone system says "Thank you for calling American Home Shield.... please enter your Representative's Extension" -

DO THE FOLLOWING:

Enter Ext. # 1000

The Greeting will then say: "Welcome to Avia Messaging, please enter the mailbox # of the person you are calling.... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE MAILBOX NUMBER, PRESS STAR (*) TO SPELL THE NAME"....

After that sentence, IMMEDIATELY PRESS STAR (*) - then spell David Crawford's LAST NAME:

just input, "CRAW".... you will then be taken to: DAVE CRAWFORD'S VOICEMAIL....

Kindly leave your message.

If you want to call bluff - redial the 1-866 number above, go to Ext. 1000 and then input Judy's Extension "2100" (Judy Peedic - The Executive Assistant to David Crawford) - it will take you to her voicemail (or she will pick up) - so the Avia Messaging System is that of AHS...

Also, another Executive Assistant to David Crawford is a person by the name of "Matthew Boyd" his extension is 2103 at the same 1-866 number listed above (again, his extension also works in the Avia Messaging System @ AHS).

I hope American Home Shield makes right on alot of the breach of contract...

PASS THE INFO ON TO ANY SITE YOU SEE THAT CONTAINS AHS COMPLAINTS!!!

my neighbor had problems with 3 or 4 of the top burners on her stove.ahs sent out a "yahoo" who called the ahs authorization department and told them it was not to be covered because she was using the burners to heat her house!!

what a line of bunk. how could anyone tell that just by looking at four worn burners ...just like the ones on your stove... ahs did not repair it and told her she had to get those repairs done out of pocket and send them a document to prove it before they would cover this stove again... cmon...

what a waY to wiggle out of paying for the fix..some one told me that the servicers are scrutinized on the cost and weedle out of these repairs so they will continue to get work from ahs...would not surprise me at all....

You sound as if you work for them.I would not doubt it.

There absolutely nothing good about this company. Who the heck said anything about pre existing conditions. You are basically saying that these people are dumb and cant read.

Maybe we were dumb for having them in the first place, but not any more.And you Justin read this-- *** AND AHS!!!!

I clearly advise you to look at your contract, and read very carefully its not in small print.AHS does NOT cover pre-existing conditions.

That means if you had these problems before you purchased this warranty AHS will not cover.Com'on people stop wanting everything for nothing.
