Sent a company to repair my c/a. They duct taped and ran plastic pipe all around my heating unit and condenser in the house in 2008.

Water was running out from under the closet where the unit was. Another repairman discovered that the drip pan was too close ro the coil they replaced and had melted into the fan and motor and is a fire hazard. AHS will not replace anything!

Only approve shoddy patch work!I cancelled my warranty with this company but now need new c/h and air. There is a class action suit against them at this time.

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas

AHS is one cheating company who deals with unprofessionals. My friends who had no warranty were better off then us.

We feel like stupids to have got AHS.

Our heater failed 25 days back and still now no news from the company that came to check and AHS said they cant send any other company to fix it too. I am very very unhappy and it is extremely cold and we have to stay in hotels and friends places.

PLease dont ever take AHS.

If you are disgusted with AHS's business tactics, customer relations AND DENIAL OF TRUE, VALID CLAIMS (ie: Breach of Contract)....

Here's some info:

If you're seeking CEO David Crawford's voicemail - here's how.

Dial 1-86*-***-**** as stated above. When the phone system says "Thank you for calling American Home Shield.... please enter your Representative's Extension" -

DO THE FOLLOWING:

Enter Ext. # 1000

The Greeting will then say: "Welcome to Avia Messaging, please enter the mailbox # of the person you are calling.... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE MAILBOX NUMBER, PRESS STAR (*) TO SPELL THE NAME"....

After that sentence, IMMEDIATELY PRESS STAR (*) - then spell David Crawford's LAST NAME:

just input, "CRAW".... you will then be taken to: DAVE CRAWFORD'S VOICEMAIL....

Kindly leave your message.

If you want to call bluff - redial the 1-866 number above, go to Ext. 1000 and then input Judy's Extension "2100" (Judy Peedic - The Executive Assistant to David Crawford) - it will take you to her voicemail (or she will pick up) - so the Avia Messaging System is that of AHS...

Also, another Executive Assistant to David Crawford is a person by the name of "Matthew Boyd" his extension is 2103 at the same 1-866 number listed above (again, his extension also works in the Avia Messaging System @ AHS).

I hope American Home Shield makes right on alot of the breach of contract issues... :)

PASS THE INFO ON TO ANY SITE YOU SEE THAT CONTAINS AHS COMPLAINTS!!!

I know exactly what you people mean I threw away plenty of money and got nothing in return when I needed it. Correction I got plenty of excuses.

It's to bad we cannot say what we really feel on here, I did try-will not work.

Most stories sound very similar, we all got ripped off. I hope they realize someday that air would sure come in handy down there with the Devil because that is where they are going.

When I asked him what was wrong with our A/C Unit- he told me that AHS requires all contractors (for repairs over certain amount) to call AHS and tell them what's wrong before disclosing it to the customer

Mom of three.....Correction on a few things. Contractors are given a specific amount for repairs if they go over that amount that are required to call ahs to inform ahs that they're going over their limit, and what the amount would be.

Contractors ARE NOT told not to tell homeowners whats going before they disclose it to AHS, contractors choose to do so because IF it is something that's not covered they don't want to be cursed, and deal with a yelling & screaming h/o, so they wait so that AHS can tell the h/o. And you also have contractors who milk ahs for money, and do things to deny claims because the h/o is usually going to pick that company to do the repairs that are not covered. I know AHS looks like the bad guy.

BUT contractors are just like mechanics!!! :-)

We had a very bad experience with AHS. Our AC unit went out this summer. They sent us a technician who came to inspect it. When I asked him what was wrong with our A/C Unit- he told me that AHS requires all contractors (for repairs over certain amount) to call AHS and tell them what's wrong before disclosing it to the customer. When a technician calls and tells the problem, AHS helps them to rephrase everything the way AHS wants it to be written down in order/invoice.

Contractors are pretty much have no choice but doing what they're told to do, because they get clients, therefore make money.

We had a denial in repairs or replacement (it involved repairs of $2600) twice from AHS even thought the contract stated that our issue should be covered. They could not give us exact reason. When I called, they told me it was denied because of faulty installation of one part and when my husband called- they told him because of preexisting condition. ??? The condion was great until it broke. They could not give an exact reason why we received a denial.

The fact that they require their contractors not to disclose the results of inspection to the client until they talk to AHS- that's a conflict of interest. They should be sued just for this business practice. Shame for such a big company!!

Over 10 hours on the phone with AHS in the past week. Its 95' in Memphis and my air quit.

Called AHS on Friday, 1:42pm and rec'd an email on Monday. Contractor came out Tuesday and came back out on Friday at 10:30am when I heard a loud boom and saw white smoke and was told that my unit was "burned up" and would need replacing. The contr. called AHS on Mon.; AHS didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt order the unit Wed.; the contr.

got conformation late Thurs and wants $150 disposal fee to replace it on Mon. My house is 88รขโ‚ฌโ„ข inside, Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm hot, unemployed now with no disposable cash for รขโ‚ฌล“feesรขโ‚ฌย. Reeves wonรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt budge on the fee, AHS says I have to pay it or offers me peanuts to do it myself. So Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm backed into a corner because to get it done myself will cost $3200-$3600รขโ‚ฌยฆSo I now have the $150, call Reeves and will install unit on NEXT WEDNESDAY!

Had warranty for 15 yrs, 1st major claim- Spoke to countless CSRรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs, supervisors NEVER avail. Finally got 3 diff.

ones- oh and the Contractor has an รขโ‚ฌล“Fรขโ‚ฌย rating with BBBรขโ‚ฌยฆ. why are they using รขโ‚ฌล“Fรขโ‚ฌย rated contractors
