Date: 8/24/17. My AC went out this week.

I called to request service and was on hold for over 43 minutes. They sent a technician out 2 days later. After looking at the unit he determined that it needed Freon. I happened to have had in independent AC company to inspect the unit prior to AHS sending someone out so I knew that it was low and that there was a leak in the coil in the attic.

I asked the tech if he had checked for a leak. he said no. He said that they are instructed by AHS to add Freon as the first course of repair knowing that it may leak out in a day, week. AHS only pays $10.00 toward Freon which would leave me with about $500 which would have leaked right out.

the tech had to call to get authorization for a coil which make take up to 4 weeks. As I type this review I am have been on hold with AHS for 55 minutes trying to speak with someone about a more speedy solution. The unit really needs to be replaced but they will take the route that best benefit them. LSS - DO NOT USE AHS.

Very poor customer service. you will not get best service. If they don't replace the unit I will be right back here I a year. BTW if they replace the unit they only replace inside, not out.

Suggest you save for any home repairs. One hour and I'm still on hold. REDICULOUS !!! READ THE FINE PRINT.

AS POINTED QUESTIONS.

Finally spoke with AHS. they cant give me no answers.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Adding freon is an option the tech has, and AHS has, at their discretion. The customer has the right to request a cashout instead, but canโ€™t dictate what repair/replacement options they want.

If the customer could choose, they would always choose replacement, unless of course, they have no home warranty, in which case they will usually choose repair.

Replacing half a split system is not a replacement at all. That is like saying a dog is half purebred.

I had the exact situation. Having worse problems with them now.

The company they sent to "repair" our dishwasher made things worse and has ruined our VERY expensive hand scratched hard wood floors. Praying they do something about it.
