Water heater went out. They couldn't find a replacement.
Offered me less than half the price to purchase at Lowe's with no installation. I said no, so they just closed the ticket. I had to pay another $75 to open a new ticket, and they just ignored that one altogether. While waiting for this water heater for 6 months and still never getting it replaced, the furnace went out.
They assigned someone to fix it who told me they had the part but no technicians to work on it because they didn't repair furnaces anymore. Anyway, after over a year of dealing with them and no responses... they couldn't even get a manager to call us back as promised. I borrowed $5,000 and fixed both myself and sent them the bill.
They refused to reimburse, so I had no choice but to cancel after paying for this service for 25 years. I tried to sue, but they have some type of requirement to be heard by some arbiter in another country. Needless to say, after $75 a month for 25 years and another $75 for each time I had them issue a service call, even when they canceled them for no reason, I was just out all that money, and they basically said they could care less.
Don't give them your business! No company could be worse than this.
User's recommendation: Don't do business with them at all. Cancel and get out NOW!
Monetary Loss: $5000.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
American Home Shield Cons: Dont fix anything so their service is useless, Customer service is the worst on the planet, No ability to escalate or talk to a manager, Have to wait for them to ship parts, Pick the unreputable contractor to do the work.
