Unfinished project
It took forever to get the issue resolved with no feedback. I'm very disappointed.
I called several times in never received a call back or when I did to get a call back the issue wasn't resolved. It kept being passed on to someone else. The microwave sat in my dining room for 4 months without anyone. Helping me get the problem resolved.That's why i'm disappointed.
I couldn't move it. I was recovering from shoulder surgery had been in a car accident that damaged my lower back and so it was in the way of our family activities for that long.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I sent an email to social@***.com and the BBB.
I got a quick response and an apology not being able to resolve the issue sooner. My new refrigerator will be delivered in 4 days. Thus ordeal has not changed my feelings toward American Home Shield.
For me it was an isolated issue. It is just unfortunate when customer service representatives don't know what customer service is.
I, like most homeowners, have two refrigerators. This is my 3rd attempt to fix the same issue on one of them which is not getting cold.
When I called their customer service department, all they did was repeat everything I said. Frustrated, I offhandedly asked them if they resolve issues there and was told no. They also refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor.
According to my contract, if an appliance cannot be fixed, it will be replaced. I have been a customer for almost 20 years in total and feel the terms of my contract should be honored to the fullest.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. & NO HELP.
Back in June we had an issue with the AC and needed it looked at, AHS sent a company who didn't even look at the unit. But we paid for their service fee. Then fast forward to July 15th, AC goes out. AHS can't get a tech to come out, and its been NINE days and there is STILL NO APPOINTMENTS.
I live in AZ where it is over 100 outside and my house got to be 100 plus as well. Demanded to speak to a manager, and the best they could do was "put in a ticket for someone to call me in 48 hours'. & when they did call, we got disconnected. Did they call back?
no. They also emailed, but then stopped responding to emails too!! NOTHING BUT LIES AND EXCUSES. Had I not called another company everyone in my house would be DEAD.
AHS does NOT CARE about their customers AT ALL. & When I told them they need to reimburse me-- NOBODY CONTACTS ME AND WHEN I CALL THEY HANG UP.

I'm a CURRENT customer...hard to get out since you pay for a whole year. NOT ONCE have they done me right in anything.
Customer Service gives you the "run-around" answer w/o provide any REAL answers. this the 3rd time I've requested service and AGAIN they're giving me a hard time

Horrible - 8 years two compressors and 3 months to repair my refrigerator
They are horrible
Paid them for 8 year What a nightmare. This is the only solution and protocol and technician needs to notify you- AHS take the money and let you deal with it with the *** techs that dont give a shot about your timely repairs.

We have been without a fridge for 2 months and it is still not fixed. The contractor said it was not repairable but because something is ambiguous about the diagnosis in his report, they refuse to cash me out.
They want another contractor to come out and me to pay another $100 service fee. This is after the first contractor has been out here 4 times and ordered 5 different parts. I ask for a supervisor and after 6 calls they finally opened a ticket for me, she called, I missed it and apparently you only get one call a day and she has no direct line. Everyone is offshore and speaks broken english so you never really fully undestand.
We paid for 12 years and have only cashed out a microwave so they have thousands of our money. AVOID

To date I’ve filed complaints with the BBB, the Dept of insurance, the AG office, and finally filed for arbitration to try to resolve the matter
Never again.
Each time they would add freon and charge me. Last year, they added 4 lbs of freon to each of my units charging me around $800.
This year, my upstairs unit broke. the AHS contractor determined the compressor went out. AHS had me call them after they received the estimate from the contractor.
They claimed I needed to pay $2,895 out of pocket for "modifications" that weren't covered... basically the labor to replace the compressor. The cash in lieu offer was $525.00. The modifications they claim necessary were:
refrigerant line modification - $650.00
electrical line modification - $540.00
condenser pad modification - $440.00
freon - 11 lbs at $115 per pound - $1,265.00
I went through calling their third world call center numerous times, requesting to speak to supervisors, being sent to their "escalation" department...
all to get me more and more frustrated and never ever getting an actual supervisor or anyone in the US.
Because of my complaints with the DOI and BBB, they had a rep contact me. However, throughout the process she repeatedly lowballed me when I was looking for fair treatment. They advised me that the recommendation was for condenser replacement.
I sent them an estimate for condenser replacement and requested cash in lieu of $5,855, the part they are responsible for. They again lowballed me offering a much smaller amount.
In the meantime, we've purchased several tower fans in order to deal with triple digit heat and make it more tolerable for my little kids to sleep.
Also, the second unit isn't cooling properly again.

Preferred solution: Cash in lieu for the cost of the replacement of the condenser ($5,855.00), which is much less than the amount of the replacement of both systems.

Iof back up still remains after plumber so called did work
As of today 10.7.2024 Monday, I have contacted AHS, I also have contacted the plumber.
AHS is blaming the plumber, The plumber is blaming AHS. In the mean time the repair is still not done.

I called American Home Shield because my pool pump is going out, it's ridiculously loud and disturbing the neighbors. The first technician came out and said that he couldn't fixed it because we put the chlorine tabs in the skimmer and we aren't supposed to do that.
I asked my pool company and they said that's a idiotic notion.
I waited several months and called America Home Shield again, the guy came out and said that he can't fix it because I need a new GFI, he said the laws changed since 2020 and he can't fix the pool pump. He then proceeded to let me know that's why we need to vote. I vote, I have a voter registration card, exactly who should I vote for to get AHS to do what we pay them to do? One minute visit and he left.
Should the first company have caught what the second guy says or am I wrong, this house is built in 2013.
I'm upset and I don't want anything to do with AHS American Home Shield. They're a fraud!

I negotiated a home warranty as part of the purchase of my townhome and thought AHS was probably the best of the worst and still believe this. I had problems with the electric panel and the A/C (in summer - in Florida) and was underwhelmed by the time it took to get a qualified professional out to fix my problems.
I had to endure 5 days of no A/C in August just to pay the $125 deductible and get a new basic part. The technician then tried to upsell me on a worthless laser line clearing service for my A/C drain - wow! As far as my electric issue, I had a bad breaker and the technician did not have a replacement part and had to wait for about two months.
Thankfully, he installed a temporary one that worked fine but was not to code.
Overall, eventually both issues were fixed, but had I saved the premium paid (about $600/year) plus the $125 deductible (x2), I would have been better off contracting the services on my own. Next time I will know better...

American Home Shield is running a FRAUD scheme!!
I would like to express my complete dissatisfaction with the terrible service at American Home Shield. I have been a loyal customer for years with American Home Shield and once something expensive like the water heater or A/C doesn't work they find ANY excuse not to pay.
Last month, I reported to American Home Shield that my A/C was not cooling off. American Home Shield sent a third party company called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" to inspect and fix my home A/C. "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" arrived at my home, make an inspection and took several photographs of the coil and A/C.
After the inspection "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" sent a report to American Home Shield that the reason the A/C was not working was due to "Mold or Mildew" in the A/C.
Based on this fact (which is a lie), American Home Shield informed me they will not cover the A/C coil replacement or labor due to "Mold or Mildew", they allegedly claim is present in the A/C coil and sent me an estimate of almost $4,500 dollars.
I contacted American Home Shield to request the photographs containing the Mold or Mildew "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" claims my home A/C coil had as evidence. I was informed by American Home Shield that American Home Shield did not have these photographs and to contact "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" for these photographs.
At the same moment, I called "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" and they informed me they could not share with me the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew, the A/C inspection report or provide a detailed estimate to me.
They told me to contact American Home Shield directly as I was a Client of American Home Shield not their Client. Furthermore, "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" informed me that once they uploaded all the information online to American Home Shield, that information is gone from the "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" system.
Since then, I had called six (06) times to American Home Shield, spoke with 3 associates, 3 supervisors and 1 customer complain department, asking for: a. the release of the A/C coil images containing Mold or Mildew; b. the release of the A/C full inspection report; and c.
a copy of the detailed estimate for almost $4,500 dollars to know what is included in the estimate they provided.
To continue with the terrible service by American Home Shield, in my online login at the American Home Shield online portal, there is a disclaimer that reads under the estimate: "*American Home Shield cannot guarantee the accuracy of this estimate. For exact costs, contact the contractor."
Therefore, even though I am a customer of American Home Shield and I have had paid a monthly subscription for years to American Home Shields, American Home Shield cannot guarantee the accuracy of their estimates or provide any information and proof of the alleged Mold and Mildew.
After a complete lack of transparency, misinformation and inaction from American Home Shield, I contacted a well-known A/C contractor from my local area and this company quoted less than half the price of what American Home Shield in combination with "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" quoted me for the same exact repair, replacement and service of my home A/C.
Furthermore they show me pictures and said: THERE WAS NO MOLD OR MILDEW!!!
Therefore, either the company "American Home Shield", "Complete Air Mechanical Of Central FL" or "both companies" together, want to take advantage of me as a customer one more time. For the lack of transparency of both companies until now, it gives the irrefutable impression that these companies are running a "FRAUD scheme"!!!

I have been a good customer of AHS, paying them monthly and never called them for any repairs during the last 2 years of my ontract. This was my first experience as My microwave was giving me trouble.
AHS connected us to Astros appliance as their vendor for electrical appliances. We paid $100 as service fee on top of monthly payments, for technician to visit us. Astros proved to be a complete disappointment as their technician came thrice and was unable to communicate properly and said he needs to order some parts. Since then we have been spending hours on phone flipping betweeen Astros and AHS.
It has been 3 weeks of complete frustration without my mocrowave. When I call AHS, their representatives are all sitting in other countries and have literally no idea how to help the client. I wanted to cancel the service, it took me 3 hours on the phone today as they kept on transferring me from one agent to another. Every time it has been such a frustrating experience calling them.
They don't have solutions and everytime you will be talking to new people who would at least take an hour of yours without providing any solution. They promised refund of Service charges as the problem was not fixed but never refunded my $100. There is no email to reach them. Please stay away from American Home Shield.
Better save that money every month and use it when you need to get things fixed by some professional who would really help you fix your appliance. When for a small appliance this is their attitude, I wonder what would have happened had it been my HVAC or refrigerator!!!

We called on July 1st, our air conditioner went out, and we live in Florida! We were told someone was coming on July 8th!
The night before we got a text that they would be here between 9 - 1:00. At 11:30, we got a call that they couldn't come until the following Friday! So we called AMERICAN HOME SHIELD 3 TIMES! Because they outsource their calls to INDIA!
And we could NOT understand these people! Again, we were told we had to wait another week!
And they would send out the same people, which back in 2019, they had sent them out and they STOOD US UP AGAIN!! So, DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

My A/C went out and it has been over three weeks and the technician they sent out has not provided any update on my A/C repair. I have called several times and they keep telling me that they will contact the repair company but the repair company is non-responsive and they will not assign a new contractor.
Don't waste your money with this company. I would give negative stars if I could.

I had such a negative experience with American Home Shield that I will never use a home warranty company again.
The single worst customer service experience of my life. Disorganized, unprofessional, do-nothing outright liars & scammers.
They deserve a full congressional investigation for the way they bilk their customers of money, time & energy. I wish I had never heard of American Home Shield & I regret ever using their services.
They have done nothing for me but waste my time & create an infinite feedback loop of misery & frustration. I genuinely hate them & I advise anyone considering using their service to RUN in the opposite direction.
