I purchased the Combo Plan home warranty with an effective date of 11/7/2020 with monthly installments in the amount of $43.74.
On my credit card statement I was charged 4 times for the amount of $43.73. I checked my email and it stated that I had 4 contracts for the same house.
So this explained the 4 charges. I called on 11/10/2020 and was advised that unnecessary contracts were cancelled and I would get an email notification of such. At this point there should have been only 1 contract active and remaining. However, On 11/20 I had noticed I had only received a refund for 2 of the 3 charges which were incorrect.
I called AHS again to explain again I was charged 4 times and 3 of the transactions needed to be refunded. I was advised that it will take some time for the 3rd refund to hit my account. On 12/2/2020 again I checked my credit card statement and no refund was posted from AHS. I called AHS again and this time the person stated the accounting department would need to review.
On the call from 12/2/2020 I advised the rep that if it was not solved by 12/4/2020 I would be canceling all services/agreements/contracts with AHS. I called today 12/4/2020 and spoke to someone who advised that the 3rd contract was cancelled but could not explain why i had not gotten a refund. She attempted to transfer me to another department where i could additionally cancel the remaining active contract. However, they must have been too busy, and I was told I would get a call back.
Because of what I perceive to be complete incompetence I felt the need to express my frustration with AHS via email in hopes that it will reach someone with authority to not only make changes but resolve my issues.
I would like a refund of $87.48 (43.74 which was the 3rd incorrect charge from 11/7 and 43.74 for the last remaining active account). In total there should be 4 refunded transactions to me.
To date I have only received 2 of the 4. It is becoming time-consuming to continue to call AHS with no resolution.
User's recommendation: Do Not use this company.
Monetary Loss: $195.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
American Home Shield Cons: Have horrible customer service and they are dishonest, Slow response time, Lack of a call-back feature when waiting on hold, Inability to provide clear expectations for resolution.
