Waiting for my check in the mail. Have told them I will cancel my other warranties on four different properties and seek legal remedy but they keep on refusing to send me the check for the work performed after furnishing the proof of payment. Estimate sent mid July, 2021, Paid Invoice Sent October, 2021 and still waiting for my check!

After three years and 5 different Contractors American Home Shield finally gave us permission to Replace the Air Conditioning Unit and the Air Handler on our Condo after years of nursing the unit for three summers. They first changed the compressor with the wrong one, then they worked on the Air Handler, then they replaced the Whole Unit on the roof with a 3 ton without changing the Air Handler to match for refrigerant and then they discovered it was to change the Air Handler but they botched the size and installation, so then we finally had an Outside Contractor after Authorization change the Unit on the roof to two ton and they also changed the Air Handler to match.
The Letter they sent about Authorization after a Verbal Authorization was sent to the Unit Address where the Tenant lives and to top it off they did not mail it to a Unit Number so we never received it for processing. They owe us over $7,000 and said we did not submit the correct paperwork according to their policy. The 2nd Opinion Contractor submitted the Diagnosis and Pictures and then kicked it back to the Contractor that installed the wrong unit. They then based on the 2nd Opinion issued us the go ahead to use an Outside Contractor, and we sent them the scope of work and Estimate prior to the Work being done by our Licensed Contractor, which was hard to find with the Mess they walked into.
AHS should go back to the Original Installer where the new 3 Ton unit they installed without the new Air Handler if they need to be reimbursed.
It really was so sad to see our tenant have to have 5 gallon buckets for 3 months to collect the leaks from Condensation, but she worked with us in High Temperatures. They still are saying we did not follow their Policy, so no go!
User's recommendation: Caution with Outside Contractor on Repairs or Replace.
Monetary Loss: $7345.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
American Home Shield Pros: Have other 4 other warranties for several years that are fine.
American Home Shield Cons: Not backing up the customer needing the service and repair.
