My AC went down on weekend.I live in South Florida.

By noon, my house was like an oven. I called American Home Shield to be told I had to wait 48 hours since it was a weekend. AHS contract states they will expedite emergency service. It was useless to argue with their agent - she flat out refused to escalate, expedite, or many any efforts to help us find a contractor who could respond after-hours.

What is the point of having a maintenance service contract if you have to worry about the time of day when you need service, and get no assistance in finding reputable contractors? We ended up resolving this on our own. We have escalated this problem, but I am not hopeful.

Do not enter into a service contract with AHS - find good contractors to have on-call on your own (who can and will respond 24/7), or at least try a different company.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $800.

Preferred solution: Full refund.
