This is the 2nd time within 12 months we had to contact AHS for our Central Air conditioning system (17 years old). First instance in September 2019, it took over 2 weeks in the sweltering heat to repair the system with 2 bogus attempts from incompetent service providers.
They promised $125 a day motel but never came through with payment. This time a blower motor and fan had to be replaced and when the technicians did their diagnoses they failed to include the compressor which failed AFTER they replaced the blower motor. Because the service provider could not make the decision to order a compressor, we had to wait more time in the sweltering heat only to be told that the out of pocket costs would be around $1200.00 ($295 for multiple lines, $125 for a $4,00 pad and $80 for 8 pounds (3.63 kg) of R-22 Refrigerant at $100 per pound.) My air conditioning technician who has been in the business for over 20 years indicated that the extra fees (except R-22) were unwarranted You disconnect the compressor and reconnect with new compressor, then add refrigerant. I'm having a 2nd opinion through AHS with the technician that resolved the crisis in September 2019.
The AHS Customer service agent agreed to refund the $100 service cal but want to charge me for the 2nd call if they indicate the same is needed for the first call.
My response to the customer service agent for AHS is every day a customer has to wait should be a reduction in out-of-pocket costs. This is turning into a similar nightmare as in September 2019
