I attempted to close my account two times, the first with Alex 20 Mar 21 at 6:30 he guaranteed I would be contacted within 24 hours by telephone, I was not contacted by anyone.
I called again 1 April 21 at 6:02 and spoke with Chat who passed me onto a woman named Z she asked the same questions again and continued to ask me for a reason why I was closing my contract, my reply from the start was I don't need it, this went on until 6:30, during this conversation I was told if I cancelled the contract today I "may have to pay" a $41.95 fee. I asked for the reference and in my contract to which Z replied it is in your contract.
Z then stated I could let the contract expire on 2 May 21 and would not have to pay the $41.95 administrative fee.
American Home Shield and I have been under a contract since 2016 with no services performed, and when I attempted to cancel the contract was met with this type of service. I am finished with American Home Shield.
User's recommendation: Make sure you read the contract before entering into it.
Preferred solution: Contract cancelled 2 May 21 with no additional penalties.
American Home Shield Cons: Customer service is horrible.
