The reason vendors don’t tell YOU, in writing or otherwise, what they think or know about your system, is that they are working for AHS, not YOU. YOU are not the customer, AHS is.

The info will be given to the service manager, and then presented to AHS in a way that minimizes AHS’ costs. They can’t tell you first, because it is proprietary information. Also, it will be disputed by YOU in order to have some advantage over the contractor or AHS. A blank piece of paper is what you get, with your model and serial number on it.

AHS gets the summary. Hire your own company and can AHS.

American Home Shield - Repair Review from Los Angeles, California

We have had an on going issue with the contractor AAR Appliances sent to repair our dryer. For over 2 months we have been without a dryer. The contractor has horrible customer service never calls with status of anything and excuse after excuse. When calling AHS for help resolving this issue they stated nothing could be done but wait for the repair to be done. We have been faithful customers of AHS paying our premiums and this how we are thanked, referring a horrible contractor and no assistance with resolving this on going issue.

The worst customer services. 9 out of 10 when I called. And if u want to cancel because u move out of the property.it is possible. They are not doing their jobs. I feel bad for a company who has such a poor quality employees. At First,I waited at least 40 mins to speak to someone. Second, after she read me all cxl policy, though that already did cxl, next week shown that I own the money. Called to explain, waited forever again. She told me will make sure contract was cxl.then,second week, called from AHS to collect money,explained again. Then I decided to call back the next day,waited for another 15 mins. And the real worst customer service. Her name was NAKAI(that what she told me),She was full of attitudes.i try to explained what happend, she put me at false that I called wrong department and try to read cxl agreement. She pause while I explained to her again like she did not want to listen but has to. I asked to speak to manager, she said there were no manager but she can email her manager but it would take up to 48 hrs for her manager to reply. I worked for customer service. I knew how this thing work. She try to hang up, I told her that I would wait till she cxl my account. She confirmed that my account was cxl and no one will call me to collect money. I still don't trust her. I'll find out next week because I still see my account shown a amount due. Well, I bought another property thought I will buy home warrantee from AHS again. That though was gone. NEVER AGIIN. There are too many home warrantees that have more qualities, integrity and excellence customer service than American Home Shields

I have been paying monthly for a few years now. Recently i have had two issues & both were handled very poorly. For my dishwasher the service tech said all it needed was an $11.95 part & he would order & come back. I got a call a few hours later by someone in the office that said the part is back ordered for at least a month & could be even up to six months so sorry they would not be able to fix it. I called GE appliance with the number on my dishwasher & they had the part for &11.95 & i would receive it within 3-5 bus days free shipping. I called American Home Shield & they would not call the appliance repair company about the issue. They basically said "oh well". So unprofessional. Im so tired of them taking my money & nothing is covered

Frustration might be the term--example #1 clogged toilet--24 hrs before I received a call--another 24hrs before someone could come out--only to tell me they could not unclog #2 water heater (winter time) 24 hrs before I received a call--36 hrs before someone came out--did not fix--claimed electrical problem (kind of strange) did not fix-- took him 10min to tell me that #3 garbage disposal--24 hours before someone called back--10 min visit did not fix--advised garbage disposal on the wrong side (kind of strange again) #4 refrigerator not getting cold--24hrs before someone called back--48hrs before someone could come out--advised freon--another 24hrs because they did not do freon--wait overnight to see if freon worked if not it's generator--waited overnight--still not working--4 1/2 days later--had to buy a new refrigerator--tired of waiting on a resolution #5--dryer not getting hot--called automated system--advised 24hours someone would call--no one called by the end of the day--no one answered the number that was given as the contractor--called next day--on hold for 30min--had to hang up--called again--wait 24 hours--2days passed--still waiting--no dryer-- probably will have to buy a new one before anyone calls back after 4days Additionally, each visit except for the last--had to pay service fee to be told what I already new--my toilet is clogged, my water heater is out, my refrigerator does not get cold (mind you it was giving off this strange odor), my garbage disposal is on the wrong side--does not work and my dryer does not get hot. Maybe I am the one in a million customer who has the problem with AHS--I have been with AHS since 1991--every year they increase their annual rate, every year they change the contract number and every year they increase the service fee--yet not one time have I used their service and had a favorable result. You say, why--well they are rated #1 and I keep saying it won't happen this time--unfortunately--it continues.

American Home Shield review in Los Angeles, California: Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had so many issues with this company, you can't reach anyone without experiencing very long hold times, the service people they send are rude, and usually can't fix the problem. We were without a washer for over 6 weeks due to this company's negligence, and incurred large bills from the dry cleaner in the meantime. Lastly, I approved 12 month billing and they charged my debit card the full annual amount without my authorization, now I am waiting up 7-10 business days for the money to be transferred back into my checking account. I called to discuss and was left on hold for over 40 minutes. Hopefully this review with save others time, frustration and wasted money.
