15 years we have dealt with American Home Shield. 8 out of 10 times our "complete" coverage didn't cover the item that was broken.

The final straw was our washing machine. A week to get a repairman out, and he was here for 10 minutes said washer couldn't be repaired and put in for a replacement. Monday we checked online and it said in Review. We called the purchasing department and were put on for a solid 3 hours.

(I took a screenshot of the time) Today it said service call was complete. We heard nothing else from the company, and we again called AHS. We were referred this morning to the purchasing department where we sat on hold for 2+ hours no one picks up. Using another phone we called the customer service department where we waited an additional 20+ minutes.

We were told we could not cancel our contract online and would have to speak to the retention department. The retention department argued with us, warning of dire consequences should we cancel our contract.

So now we are out a year worth of monthly charges, the $75 service fee and the cost of a new washer in addition to a cancellation fee. Today was the last straw in a long line of frustration with this company.

User's recommendation: Buyer beware.
