We have a rental property in Georgia and the heater went out in December. (Two 80-year old ladies are tenants) Technician took two visits to try to fix and then said the compressor needed to be fixed but we would have to pay 1033.00 for Freon.

(at 80.00 per pound) On a 14 year old system, we decided to replace the system and AHS said they would give us a cash-out for what they would have spent to replace the compressor. It is now the end of January and we still haven't heard from them. When you speak to customer service (if you can hold on the 45 minutes to reach them) they say another department needs to take care of it, or they still can't reach the technician from the company to get details. This company is a SHAM and don't pay for their warranty.

When I finally talked to a customer service rep on Saturday, she couldn't even give me a street address in which to send a letter to the President. She put me on hold 15 minutes just to go find out who the president of the company was.

Reason of review: Cash-out situation not resolved.

Monetary Loss: $8100.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

American Home Shield Cons: Unethical practices, Difficult to deal with, Only having one number to contact company, No resolution to issue.
