Expect calls to American Home Shield to be received by automated calling systems. Expect your wait time for an actual representative to be at least 45 minutes. Expect that you may have to wait on hold for a representative for upwards of 2 hours. Expect that the representative you finally get to speak to may be discourteous, unhelpful, unsympathetic or just downright rude. Expect that what you think is an emergency situation may be treated by AHS...

I purchased a home warranty through AHS. A request was sent the plumber on Monday afternoon. I called the plumber myself to set up the actual appointment time. He was actually early. We showed him the problem areas. He seemed to be knowable. He took the shower apart and at first noted there was no problem there. He quickly dismissed the drain.. big mistake. He even blamed us stating we were splashing the water and it was dripping down the walls.

I am a property manager, and we have quite a few properties covered under AHS.Every time I make a phone call to them I have to wait over 30 minutes. There isn't one time when I've been helped faster than 30 minutes unless you talk to the people who sell you new contracts. They haven't covered quite a few issues which should have been covered, because there's always a lame excuse they give. I have two customers who have waited over a month to get...

I cancelled my two home warranty contracts with American Home Shield (AHS) recently after a series of unsatisfactory encounters. The fundamental problems are: AHS procedures for filling service requests are unreliable and subject to unreasonable delays; their network of service contractors too often involves parties located far away and with little commitment to customers; their definition of covered expenses has so many exclusions that at the...

American Home Shield Home Warranty Review from Duluth, Georgia
I just want everyone to know how American Home Shield treats their customers. My brother died on July 4th and I had to go out of town for the funeral so I turned my leaking water heater off until I was able to deal with this unfortunate situation. I knew I would be home in Monday (July 11) so I begged them to accommodate me with an appointment time. I was told they would be here today between 1-6pm. They called me at 5:16pm and said that their...

They have it with their resolution department which could be 24-48 hours. At that time they will order parts themselves which could take no telling how long. Home warranty contract with this company is a very big waste of money. I did use them once previously in another home where they had to replace a capacitor and the month after the contract ran out the replaced part went bad again. I bought a higher quality part and never had a...

American Home Shield is a rip off! You pay 550.00 a year to have insurance for your appliances and home. Each time they send a technician out you pay 75.00. Twice I have had to pay for nothing I get a diagnosis and then sorry we don't cover that! Save your money for the repairs and have them done yourself! Waste of time this company!!! First episode happened in August of last year . We had a sewer gas smell and they came out and claimed it was...

Hi we bought our first home in April 2015 and it came with a home warranty through American home shield. Within 3 days of moving into our we had to replace our sewer line. It is funny how the contract with this company states that they will not cover the repair if the line is busted. Basically the pipe was deteriorated hence roots were laying on top of were the connection should have been... They have refused to pay for it... So we had it...

, the earliest she could be home from work. That wasn't good enough. The contractor refused to come after 2 pm and AHS refused to call another contractor. They told my tenant she would just have to take a day off work, which she can't afford to do. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor who, of course, was not available. In the contract it does NOT state that there is set time when service calls can be scheduled - and, certainly 3:30 or 4...
