Get your checkbook and credit card ready, AHS is going to need them!Call and ask if something is covered, get told yes but not until you pay the local *** $75 to inspect then get your claim denied. Then oh, you wanted that covered? Well that's in another plan that costs $100's more plus the $75 local *** fee. Then get ready to be denied again. Or better yet, have local *** #1 inspect the wrong AC unit, need to pay another $75 for for the backup...

American Home Shield Home Warranty Review from Thaxton, Mississippi
AHS replaced my long neck stainess steel kitchen faucet with a cheap, short neck, shiny chrome faucet and they don't understand why I'm upset. What good is home warranty if you don't at least get similar replacement materials? Why would I design my kitchen the way I like with matching appliances and fixtures and then pay someone to come in and add materials that don't match? They're quick to answer calls but put me in a forever loop on hold...

At AHS they always refuse to take the responsibility if required work costs more than basic service fee.Plumbing contractors don't want to do a job if it needs more labour and why should they if they are getting their service fee from the customer for not doing anything. If something is covered in the plan it should be done but AHS refuses to cover it with some unreasonable excuse. Very unethical Company. Customer Service is extremely poor as...

I purchased a home warranty through AHS and immediately ran into problems when I first attempted to use their service. I called in three separate issues, and was told that each one was a separate trade call at the tune of $125.00 each. The first was a plumber who came to investigate a leak that had caused an overhead light fixture to blow and other damage to a room below. After less than 5 minutes I was told that the issue was grout, and that...

We contracted with American Home Shield ($54 per mo.) to protect us from unexpected household repairs which might allow us to remain in our home. Our income is limited. Our furnace failed over two weeks ago and with October in Ohio arriving we need a repair. The tech from their agent Fast Response, Grove City Ohio came to our home, took the $100 co-pay and never returned. 10 Phone calls to all parties have been ignored and no timeframe for...

Had it for one week. The garbage disposal started leaking. I disconnected it and when the service person came he said we shouldn't have disconnected it. Then the toilets and showers were clogged. the service *** said we had a foreign object in the pipes so he couldn't do anything whatsoever. And we had to pay the $100 fee. No toilets Sat and Sun and we have to pay for a plumber separately. There you have it. I would call it a semi-scam. Oh and...

American Home Shield are crooks. Called to cancel my account and they billed me for the next month afterwards. They will not credit my account. Trust me there are way better, and honest home warranty companies out there that are cheaper, and have better customer service. AHS is outrageous with their monthly fee and service call charges. Trust me. Shop around!!! May I suggest Choice Home Warranty.....The people I spoke with were extremely rude...

Their service providers take your deductible but fail to provide TIMELY service on your repairs. We had a plumbing issue that was called in on the 29th of May and didn't get resolved until we ordered the so called "backordered" parts and got them in two days. Finally finished up our repairs on September 4th!! Now we are still in the process of trying get AHS to get our oven repaired, going on 45 days--again they keep giving excuses for provider....

The worst excuse fir a business. I requested my dishwasher and refrigerator be services and the first company (GE) never even called to schedule apportionment and never returned my voice message I left several times. AHS finally assigned another company (Family First) and they stated were #1. Well it took over a month to get them on the phone and Inly time they answer the phone is when I called AHS to complain. They had to 3 way call them to set...

My home is 90 degrees every day with fans going. I called AHS, their affiliate technician took 3 days to come out and assess the problem, despite my request for expediency. The technician confirmed the broken compressor and said someone would be in touch within 24 hours regarding our options. I called a company of our own choosing for a 2nd opinion and was told the cost to fix the compressor would be $2000. 4 DAYS later I finally called AHS...
