I called in on Friday morning, asked for service. everything was handle was advised by the e-maul I would get a call within 24hrs. But when I call on Monday 10/14/2019 the service advised that the contractor has 48 business hr. So I never got a call from the contractor. So I call the service and asked that they provide a different contractor, due to I needed my washer machine fixed. Using off shore service advisor is very bad. They're rude nasty. can't understand what they're saying. I have been with AHS since 2012 and I have never been treated like this ever. I asked for a supervisor was told there is only 1 and he is busy. I requested a call back. NO HAPPEN WITH THE SERVICE>

The reason you keep getting the same contractor is because of AHS’ cost control and the agreement between AHS and said contractor. The repairman who can achieve AHS’ goal for average ticket costs will get every single work order that AHS has in the area.

AHS tracks the average ticket total for each contractor.

A goal is established that the contractor must not charge AHS more than the customer’s service fee, or he will lose all of the future business that he relies on from AHS. Being so much cheaper (or downright free) will assure that no other contractors can compete, and AHS always gets the work orders serviced without incurring any charges.

I've had very bad experiences w/call centers. I do not wish to speak w/someone in Asia, Mexico or any other country. Extreme difficulty and long wait times being escalated to someone I could speak with, problems with billing procedures and wait time in getting work completed. My A/C situation was to be escalated and it was not.

What is a pool filter emergency? First world problem, maybe, but emergency?

Secondly, if you are so dependent on your pool filter (medical necessity?) why use a home warranty, that pays bottom dollar to desperately overworked contractors? Are there other contractors in your area whom you could hire at your own expense to service you immediately over the weekend? Or, is there another pool in your city that you could use in the meantime, while you save your money?

It sounds like you are an entitled, whiny, demanding, cheapskate, who does not appreciate the meaning of a TRUE emergency. I hope you never have to face a real emergency in your life.

It’s all about that money. There is a price for holiday weekend emergencies, but it’s not “Home warranty”.

Your job is calling you out today, on Labor Day. It pays no more than a week from Tuesday. What do you do? Meanwhile, there are other plumbers on standby with premium rates for today.

There are also other options, such as contacting a handyman next door, or shutting the water off to stop the damage. Do any of those seem feasible, or does it have to be a home warranty claim?

Somehow the USA has managed to exist without home warranties until now, and all of a sudden, a plumber has become the equivalent of a mafia hit man. Geez.

They pay $200 per call, no more. The contractors who work for them are slaves who have to charge the AHS customers for made-up, over-inflated, non-covered charges just to stay afloat.

Since they don’t have a contractor in your area, that tells you how worthless the policy really is. Cancel that ***
