I called AHS today to inquire about cancelling my policy. I didn't think this was possible since I have made legitimate claims and some of them were handled appropriately.

I had problems with both my washer and dryer. I will say that these repairs were handled how AHS should handle all of their service requests. The vendor was Sears Home Services. They sent a certified appliance tech that knew exactly what to look for and knew exactly what was wrong with both my washer and dryer.

He fixed the washer on one visit and discovered a bad part in the dryer and it was replaced due to its age. He mentioned they NEVER replace an appliance. I was quite pleased with my new dryer. Here is where it turns bad.

AHS does not want to fix A/C units. They will bandaid, make excuses or avoid fixing anything at all on your A/C unit especially if it runs off R22. They will charge you for refrigerant and the refrigerant will leak out like mine did since they refused to fix it properly. The techs they sent were a complete joke.

The first one replaced a blower motor on my furnace. It burned out somehow. He said he couldn't do anything until this motor was replaced. Two weeks later and alot of complaining it was replaced.

It was not the middle of summer but it did get quite hot. I had a brand new baby at the time. Once the blower was replaced the refrigerant was found to be low so he topped it off. You would think he would leak check, but he didn't.

Not checking for a leak when something is low on freon? Makes no sense right? This is the scam. You have a 60 day warranty on any service call and the *** just leaked right back out within the 60 days.

I called them again. They sent another tech who told me he couldn't work on mobile homes. They sent a third tech. He said I just needed a whole new A/C and Furnace for like $6000 and I could finance it.

I got really pissed and told him to leave. I don't have $6000. That is why I got the friggin warranty! I went to my local mobile home supply store and bought a $10 part because the blower motor had quit blowing and I topped the unit off with some freon from work.

It had to be topped off 2 more times that summer. After the second time I topped it off I investigated and discovered the coil had a major leak. It is still leaking to this day. I called AHS and told them that the coil has a leak and I would like to have it replaced.

They want to bandaid my coil and do *** stuff like put leak stop in my system. None of that will fix a leaking coil. I got on the phone again today wanting to cancel my policy. I was tired of paying $55 a month for a policy I can't even use.

I spoke to someone in retentions. They downgraded my policy to a 3X3 policy which only covers the Furnace, A/C, plumbing and electrical. They said I owe no more payments going forward and my policy will self cancel. I was so glad to finally be free of AHS.

The lady on the phone was helpful but she was still telling me the same line of bull I have been dealing with all last summer. She said they do not work on A/C units until it is 60 degrees. I neglected to tell her it was 70 degrees the other day, but whatever. It is just *** like that they will go round and round in circles with you.

I told her I had a leaking A/C coil and they refused to fix it. She told me she gave me a free $100 visit to have my system checked out. At this point I am just going to work on my own Heating and Air systems myself I told her. I have already ordered a new coil for $400 and I will put it in myself.

It shouldn't be this way. AHS should have covered this part and all the labor involved.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $600.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
