We purchased a premium level home warranty when we purchased our home a month and a half ago. When we arrived at the home 2 weeks later, the ac was not working as per our American Home Shield contract we contacted home shield to send out a service person, we were suppose to receive a confirmation from the service technician within 24 hours.
3 98 degree days later, we still had not received a call back, after several failed attempts at contact with American Home Shield, and one 102 degree day, we called a technician and had to pay him cash and overtime to come fix our AC.
He told us that American Home Shield does not pay them high enough rates and in a timely enough manner for them to justify taking the service calls during peak times (when you need them the most) Save your money, dont bother with the home warranty.
