American Home Shield - Air conditioner hit by lightening
Not resolved

Our air conditioner was hit by lightening and knocked out the condenser. After a week of waiting in 100 degree weather thinking the unit would be repaired, AHS called to tell us that this is considered a power surge and that it would not be covered as stated in our contract.
WHAT? This like having auto insurance that does not cover a rear end collision.
In addition they would not pay the $10. per sq pound of freon needed to replace what will leak out when the repair is made and this is clearly covered in our contract.Their explanation being that because they denied the condenser repair, everything is denied.
Reason of review: Warranty issue.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
