American Home Shield review: No Call

1.0
Details
I called in on Friday morning, asked for service. everything was handle was advised by the e-maul I would get a call within 24hrs. But when I call on Monday 10/14/2019 the service advised that the contractor has 48 business hr. So I never got a call from the contractor. So I call the service and asked that they provide a different contractor, due to I needed my washer machine fixed. Using off shore service advisor is very bad. They're rude nasty. can't understand what they're saying. I have been with AHS since 2012 and I have never been treated like this ever. I asked for a supervisor was told there is only 1 and he is busy. I requested a call back. NO HAPPEN WITH THE SERVICE>

Let’s take a guess...you have a freon leak and new a new system, right? The man was rude because you were demanding and complaining because he did not bring a new system in the van with him, and he could not give you the answers you wanted to hear.

Most home warranty contractors take unimaginable abuse from both the customer’s AND the home warranty company.

A freon leaker is bad news for everybody, so suck it up, *** and either cash out or be prepared to wait 6 months for a bandaid patch job. If you don’t want to be treated like just another typical jerk with a home warranty, hire somebody else to replace all of your HVAC equipment and get it done right.

Keep your monthly payments and forget about them, once they 'service' your appliance it doesnt matter how many times you it isnt fixed you are required to use the same service provider giving the same dismal service been there done that

The reason you keep getting the same contractor is because of AHS’ cost control and the agreement between AHS and said contractor. The repairman who can achieve AHS’ goal for average ticket costs will get every single work order that AHS has in the area.

AHS tracks the average ticket total for each contractor.

A goal is established that the contractor must not charge AHS more than the customer’s service fee, or he will lose all of the future business that he relies on from AHS. Being so much cheaper (or downright free) will assure that no other contractors can compete, and AHS always gets the work orders serviced without incurring any charges.

AHS never spent any money on you, but rather the appliance service company paid for what you received. AHS is never out anything, because they hold their contractors responsible to process the claims for a set average price.

Anything over the average will get the contractor replaced, so they tend to absorb all those service calls themselves—even replacements. AHS never loses, but those involved with them sure suffer.

After several calls. Ameri sheild finally got someone else out. I had to go through several more appointments to be told i needed a new microwave. Which was the case 2 months ago. I ended up getting a new one with them schedling some to take old microwave and put back in. Even though this was resolved finally. I will not renew my contract. I feel they the contractors word over yours.

It pays to regularly monitor your credit card activity, even if you only do it when you get the statement each month. As for AHS, far too many complaints about it.

When you sign up with them, they apparently tell you you are committing to a year contract and that an early termination fee may apply. Gotta read the fine print, but any company that charges an early termination fee should be suspect from the get-go.
