I purchased my home 4 years ago. Along with it, I purchased a policy with AHS. In that time I have only had one claim on a Garbage disposal. That experience went very well. However, it seems that when it comes to expensive items, AHS is quick to deny your claim. They...

there is a class action lawsuit pending against American HomeShield because of denial of claims. You tell them you have an old unit and they say that's fine.

Then when you have a freon leak or any other failure, they use the lack of maintenance excuse. You may want to google pending lawsuit and see if you can get onboard. I received a letter recently, but have only had one claim so far. They use new hvac contractors who want to build their business and try to get you to spend extra money on maintenance.

If you don't do it, they claim you refused and your unit was not maintained. Get the picture?

Do not waste your money on dealing with this home warranty company. They do patch work. What I mean by patch work is, they patch the problem not resolve the problem. Patch work causes you more problems and money in the long run. If you go with this company, not only...

American Homeshield sent a plumber out several times to fix a leak on my hot water pipe under the house. The plumber used “duck tape” to repair the pipe.

Needless to say, the duck tape didn’t fix the leak. However, Mostly all of our walls cracked and our floors buckled causing costly damages to our home. Our children were sick from mold and my family had to go without hot water in very cold weather. We are suing American Homeshield and the plumber for the damages to our home, health, and living conditions.

While American Homeshield tries their best to get out of being responsible for the damages, they also sent us a letter saying that they are not renewing our contract. Oouuuch! Talk about insult to injury. If you are or used to be a customer or contractor I will be very grateful if I can get a statement from you sent to my email bpsashington@bellsouth.net.

Or call me (251)232-5106. I am especially interested in hearing from any contactors and former American Homeshield employees that can vouch for American Homeshield’s encouragement to make cheap repairs that only puts a temporary band-aid on the problem and their deceptiveness with denying claims that should be covered. Customers that share horror stories like mine and ended up with damage to their homes, I’d love to hear from you as well.

I am not looking for anyone to testify in court, only a true statement. I will also be willing to give my statement to anyone who needs it.

We have American home-shield and had a/c concerns that started in May 1, 2007. There is no A/C service company in our area that works with AHS. AHS finally got someone to come out of fort worth Texas @50 miles away to look at our A/C. They said it was just low on...

If you are disgusted with AHS's business tactics, customer relations AND DENIAL OF TRUE, VALID CLAIMS (ie: Breach of Contract)....

Here's some info:

If you're seeking CEO David Crawford's voicemail - here's how.

Dial 1-866-305-0259 as stated above. When the phone system says "Thank you for calling American Home Shield.... please enter your Representative's Extension" -

DO THE FOLLOWING:

Enter Ext. # 1000

The Greeting will then say: "Welcome to Avia Messaging, please enter the mailbox # of the person you are calling.... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE MAILBOX NUMBER, PRESS STAR (*) TO SPELL THE NAME"....

After that sentence, IMMEDIATELY PRESS STAR (*) - then spell David Crawford's LAST NAME:

just input, "CRAW".... you will then be taken to: DAVE CRAWFORD'S VOICEMAIL....

Kindly leave your message.

If you want to call bluff - redial the 1-866 number above, go to Ext. 1000 and then input Judy's Extension "2100" (Judy Peedic - The Executive Assistant to David Crawford) - it will take you to her voicemail (or she will pick up) - so the Avia Messaging System is that of AHS...

Also, another Executive Assistant to David Crawford is a person by the name of "Matthew Boyd" his extension is 2103 at the same 1-866 number listed above (again, his extension also works in the Avia Messaging System @ AHS).

I hope American Home Shield makes right on alot of the breach of contract issues... :)

PASS THE INFO ON TO ANY SITE YOU SEE THAT CONTAINS AHS COMPLAINTS!!!

I called to report a leaking faucet in the shower. Was told that it was not covered. I said i have the highest level and with swimming pool added service. so For a leaking faucet i should be able to get a plummer. The rep told me it was not covered. When I said other Competitors i have used in the past have repaired a leak. The rep said only if it is a main or out doors a broken pipe. I was applaued that the *** rep would tell me didn't you say a leaking faucet? and then try to diagnose it as though she was the plummer. Even I knew it went beyond the leaking faucet which she didn;'t understand that only the plummer that i requested her put in an order for me would be able to evaluate the seal from a valve.

I was so upset that she told me she could go over the plan of covereage with me. Which is not what i asked for and that that is not what i called for her to do.

I was not able to get a supervisor and she was more interested in telling me how the agency could not help me instead of what i pay them to do send out a contractor, period.

I got better service when i called back within 30 mins and spoke to a automative service and spoke to a machine.

I now realize that she just wanted to get rid of a customer so she could go home.

I expect the service rep to act as well towards customer service as a computer system, which showed me better customer service than could be expected from a human being.

Bet this kid didn't even own a car less long a home.

As soon as any company gets bought buy ServiceMaster their customer service goes downhill! Just look at TruGreen LawnCare and Terminix Pest Control as 2 other prime examples. They all care way more about taking your money, than providing quality customer service!!!!!!!

I'm a Home Inspector in North Carolina, I year or two ago I caught a Realtor having a A/C system Charged up by a Heating & Air Company two days before a Home inspection, then they put a Home Warranty on the house to protect there a-s.

The interesting thing is I did an inspection on this same house a month before the 2nd inspection and the system did not function at all.

Some time later I inspected another house and the system worked to good for its age, late 1980"s model, I told the buyer to call around and see If anyone has resently serviced the system before the inspection, guess what, same pattern, two day's before the inspection and the realtor told the seller would put a home warranty on the house for the buyer.
