Agreement Number: 22499**** Agreement Price: $305.00 Agreement Term: 10/19/17 – 10/18/18 To whom is may concern: I have been trying to get thru to someone for days. I have tried calling a dozen times.
I have been on hold for over 45 minutes “then cut off” or when entering a number as told you get the busy single. After getting thru I asked for a supervisor. Then put on hold to be cut off or busy single. Worker can to fix my fan over my stove.
It does not suck, and making a chirping nose. I went on line to see there are hundreds of complaints just like I am telling you. You need to refund my $305.00 admittedly! Being an X-Federal Inspector for construction I will take you to small clams court.
Will be contacting the Better Business Burial also. Will put America Home Shield on Yelp an all complaints dept on web. Being a disabled Vietnam Veteran will put it out there on TV news that no one should use your company. You need to fix the problem admittedly.
As your company knows your people will not fix the phone problem have not pride as an America. Having “American” in your business name is a JOKE.
I have nothing but time to let everyone in America that you company SUCKS. Everyone says your guys SUCK.

My Microwave door falls apart every time I open it. So I called AHS to get it looked at. Did you know that the door falling apart is "Cosmetic" so it isn't covered under the warranty? Because I could (after each time it is opened)struggle but finally get the door to go back together and finally close - they consider it as "working" so it isn't covered under their contract. Don't send them your money, it is the first time I have called for a repair and that is the answer I get, I won't be renewing.

American Home shields Never Again!!!
3 weeks and still no ac. First company they sent informed the AC was in perfect working condition and my house was 85 degrees. Then they sent me a quote for a new AC (not sure why if mine was in perfect working condition according to their report) for $10,000 for an AC and Furnace. The same equipment can be acquired for 4k or less with any other local company or online. IT took me a day and a half and HOURS on hold to have them sending another company to check my AC. It was really hard for them to understand why I didn't want the same company. After new company goes to my house and detects the problems no one calls, we have to be calling and following up and pressuring for them to get things done. SUCKS!!! AMERICAN HOME SHIELDS NEVER AGAIN!!! If you want to get stressed and upset that's what you need. If you want a company that doesn't care for their customers, that's the one!!

Dishwasher Motor went out a month ago still waiting on American Home Shield to get a part
I have had a home warranty plan with American Home Shield for several years. Never used it. My diswasher motor went out a month ago. AHS will only let their appliance repair companies order parts from their (AHS) approved sites. I have been waiting on a dishwasher motor that is and has been on back order for a month next week. All they will tell me is I have to wait until the part can be obtained. Each week I am told for the third week in a row that it will be in next Tues. or Thursday. Got the same message this past Friday. One month after the service call was made.

Two weeks and no AC
American Home Shield is the worst company I have ever came into contact with in my life. It has been two weeks and still no working AC. It is > 95 degrees everyday. They basically take your money and then don't fix anything. I called two weeks ago because my AC isn't working. I called back three days later because I received no response. Two days after that, I had someone at my house. They told me they would need to get approval for the fix, but there would be 'uncovered' items. These uncovered items are how service professionals really make their money. It has been three days and AHS still hasn't approved the parts for fixing the unit. The AC contractor is telling me to expect another week. How is this acceptable? or proper business? I think AHS is nothing but a scam and stay far away.

Took my check and cashed it
I sent these people a check for a 4 yr contract and I had a contract already. I thought I was upgrading my contract. They cashed the check and deducted a regular payment from my charge card. I called and they said they were sending my check back to me tomorrow. I said why did it take you guys so long to decide (after I called) to send my check back? If I hadn't have called I probably would never have gotten my check back. I asked her if I needed a lawyer? She said do what you have to do.

5 days of 95 degree heat still no air
Friday afternoon we reported to American Home Shield that our air conditioner was out. This morning service guy comes out for 3 minutes to tell us it's broken,DUH. He tells us it could be up to 2 weeks before it is fixed. We live in Louisiana 95+ temperatures. We've had 1 pet die due to the heat and a 1 year old grandson living with us. This is ridiculous. Any other air conditioning company could have it repaired the same day. We had no idea we would have to wait this long for service. Bad choice on our part. It is the middle of June and in LA you cannot be without air conditioning. AHS is not a very reliable Co.

American Home Shield & American Residential Services of Florida are unreliable
This is the seventh time I have had a trouble call with my Air Conditioning unit since moving in in 2006. This time our AC went out on Sunday, 6 June and we called it into American Home Shield. They referred us to American Residential Serives of FLorida (Florida Home AC) and the soonest they could get out was Tuesday morning. The technician came out and said it was a blown capacitor (same story each time)and said the part was still under warranty. I still had to pay the $60 service fee and I told the guy it was not working properly. It didn't sound right even after he exchanged the part. We went out for the day and came back and the house was still extremely warm. I was assured through both that someone would be here Weds morning and of course no one came. The company blamed the warranty and the warranty company said they are at the mercy of the repair company. All excuses, no answers, rude customer service, beware - you wll be dissapointed if you use either.

They will not pay for a covered item
We have had American Home Shield for 14 yrs paying a lot of money for a yearly coverage. When we have called for simple items to be repaired they send a company of their choice and we pay the $60.00 for them to come out, then they do a simple thing that would NOT be expensive and that is the end of it. Now we have a large item that is covered in our policy and they want us to pay basically for the whole thing. I have come to the conclusion that as long as you don't really want anything that is expensive then you will get it but if you need something expensive, that is supposed to be covered, well just get out your check book because they find a way to make you pay for the repair. I don't know if this is the policy of all home warranties or this is just a *** ONE. I do know that I would NEVER recommend this COMPANY!!

American Home Shield And Building codes
AC Issue Placed a call on Thursday, indicating it was life threatening since it was a disable person in a wheelchair who could have a seizure if the temperature went too high in the house. They came and indicated it was a maintenance issue since the coils were dirty which force the outside compressor to overwork. Their tech also indicated that when the compressor was changed 3 years ago AHS chose a cheat unit that was not compatible with the indoor unit and was against NC Building codes. Thus not only is AHS refusing to change the unit but when they did put a cheap unit in against my state's building codes and indicate that they do not ahead to the individual building codes but that it was in the contract. If they advertise QUALIFIED techs and they do something against the state building codes how can the state Attorney General allow them to operate? They should have had their original tech indicate that they could not change the original compressor unless I paid for the compatible coil myself before doing something against the building code.

What is Comparable?
Over the years we have used AHS several times. In the past few years we noticed a move forward low balling the customer with interior replacement products or looking for ways not to replace defective products (installed by their service providers). Replacing a $220 thermostat with a $19.00 thermostate is not comparable. Replacing a $1300 dishwasher with a $450 dishwasher is not comparable. Has anyone done any research on who the ownership investors are? Anyone willing to combine resources and take out a wall street journal newspaper ad? Lousy customer service and misrepresentation of contract fulfillment are unacceptable and must be stopped!

Bordered on hypothermia and heat stroke due to their CARELESSNESS
We have spent hundreds of dollars in electricity bills due to the fact that in 6 months they STILL have not resolved our heating and air problems. I am currently sitting in 80 degree home with my dogs waiting for four days to get their "24 hour service!" I hate this company and cant wait to choose a new one in a few months!!!!!!!!!! Even the companies they hire are shameless. Please for the love of God do not get a contract with this company. Our first service request for our heating going out this winter took 4 weeks to resolve and cost us about 600 dollars in electic bills. Now its been 6 months with a/c problems too!

I do not own a home, yet for some reason, I get an email from AHS every so often. Normally, I just ignore these along with the viagra, rolex, and genvalia coffee. But today, one of these spams wound up getting through the weak spam filters that hotmail uses, so I took a closer look at this particular spam. Of course, the spam was sent from a third party 'marketing firm'. Spam-a-lot is more like it. Anyway, I know if I complain to american_home_shield_ukhdj@***.com, they will just sell my address to all of the other Spam-a-lots as an active address. And if I complain directly to AHS, they will remove my name from their marketing list, and nothing else, while their third party spam-a-lots keep on spaming me. My solution? post a complaint here among you idiots that actually clicked on the link and lived to regret it. My hope is that the next time you get a 'respectable' looking piece of spam, you won't click on it, and that will drive down the cost/effectiveness ratio, which will in turn make someone decide not to do another email campaign, and I will have one less piece of spam in my inbox.

American Home Shield doesn't provide service promised
American Home Shield says they will repair covered items. My airconditioner is a covered item. I called them this am at 10:50 and was told someone would come out between 3 and 7 this afternoon. At 6 i recieved a call from the repair service that AHS would not authorize the repair. I have paid them faithfully for 7 years and now i can not have my a/c repaired until june 1st which is 10 days from the time they orig said someone would come out, unless i agree that it will be an emergency call. They stipulate that if the technician finds it to not be an emergency then I will be responsible for all costs of all repairs. Since this is the 2nd time in 20 days the a/c unit has broken I am sure they are trying to get out of paying a costly repair. Note that the orig repair was 20 days ago and they warrenty that service for 30 days.

We have been experiencing the same problem with them. We have not had a working A/C for 2 months and at this point we have submitted a complaint to BBB, contacted a lawyer, contacted Service Master and the CEO.
We will take them to court if we have to. They are refusing to replace items that are in fact covered in the warranty. I suggest others to be proactive and not take no for an answers.
I will post the outcome of my situation. I really want to discontinue my service with them but I'm curious to see how they will handle things when another appliciance fails.
