American Home Shield in Stillwater, Oklahoma - No air conditioning in the summer and AHS doesn't do anything

We have been waiting on repair of air conditioning for almost a month and talk to AHS everyday, sometimes multiple times. AHS selected contracted is 90 minutes away, doesn't return calls and is attempting to over charge on fees were responsible for, and is trying to charge to " bring my house up to code" I had local contractor varify house is up,to code and would charge 40% less for freon. No one at AHS does anything but lister to my complaints, and they seldom call back when they say they will. This is the third time I have had real issues with AHS and am going crazy dealing with such poor service. Do not buy AHS, their services are terrible, hard to deal with, no help and the the contractors they forage you to use are questionable and not someone you would select if you had a choice. Avoided this company, find someone else

I am 64 years old and have been trying to get AHS to fix my central unit since June 22. Temps in the 90's!

First contractor sent out said I was almost out of free on and he couldn't understand why I was getting cold air! The problem was that the pan was filling with water and came through the ceiling. Cooling was never the problem. Called a local A/C man and he added 1 or 2 lbs and fixed the pan so it would hopefully not leak thru the ceiling.

Called him the next day as the pan filled up again and I shut off the unit. He came back and found a coil problem and the primary pan needed to be replaced. Said to call back AHS as it would be an expensive repair. AHS sent another contractor out.

Yes, a coil problem but could not do it until the following Tuesday. Never showed up.

AHS placed me with the customer relations dept and now I have to wait for them to do something. This is a nightmare!

American Home Shield in Plano, Texas - AHS Service

I called AHS for service and they send contractor on Feb and appraised include unnecessary modification (according to vendor that is Law). On July same contractor came with different prices which is more expensive one. This time they said I don't require one part which cost $129, which is required by the law on Feb according to vendor. According to vendor, price change factor might be policy change(I never get from AHS) and price increase. On Feb quote was $314 with $129 parts. Today, without that parts, $340 which means $154 increase in 5 months. Still AHS talking to me cash out if I don't like vendor, which is I am not get paid any money at all according to their term "deduction". Today i am going to find out another home warranty company.

American Home Shield in Fort Worth, Texas - Air Conditioner Broke

This company is the worst. Spoke with Nicole on the phone who was exceedingly rude and refused to let me talk to a supervisor. I explained our downstairs air conditioner is not working and we had put in a service request yesterday. I had an independent company come out today who told me the unit is dead. This was the same company AHS sent out last year. Called AHS to ask if this is sufficient to show unit is dead. I was told no I have to allow technician they assigned to come out tomorrow and wait for his evaluation. In the meantime my evaporator in the attic is flooding and she told me too bad call my homeowner insurance company. These people want to take your money every month but do not want to take care of their customers. They are thieves.

No response from the repair vendor within 48 hours/ unreasonable AMS customer service American Home Shield

AHS was contacted to repair pool filter. After 24 hours of no response from the assigned vendor. I called AHS. AHS called vendor and was told fax not working. AHS emailed vendor.I was advised to wait another 24 hours. I did so and still no response. AHS (Arin ID # 3928) said no email was sent. Arin sent another fax and said wait until vendor contacts me. I asked how long should I wait? Arin could/would not provide specific time. I have already waited 48 hours. AHS declined request for another vendor. Hold times on phone were ridiculously long.

American Home Shield in Norcross, Georgia - Terrible Customer Service, Contractors are Amateurs

My recommendation would be to put your $500+ in a bag, set it on fire, and use the hot air it produces as your heat source when your furnace goes out. It will be a lot more effective than using American Home Shield. I won't even go into all the details of how long I had to wait for someone to show up, the HVAC guy who cancelled every day for a week, or the inconceivably rude attitudes from the contractors they sent out. I'll only touch on the experiences from AHS themselves. *They contract the worst of the worst quality of "repair men". AHS gets them on the cheap--it shows. *Extremely long hold times with every call, sometimes over 20 minutes. *Customer Service reps with chips on their shoulders. *Not able to ask for a manager to save you from falling down another rabbit hole with yet another customer service rep--the rep submits a form and "you'll get a call back within 24 hrs" (Just kidding, they never call). *Will not give you a new contractor if you complain about their lack of knowledge, no sense of urgency, and rude demeanor, but they do tell the contractor that you complained--makes for some interesting banter. *No regard for extreme conditions--90 degrees inside the house in the summer, 40 degrees inside in the winter. Absolutely no sense of urgency--a week to get the heat fixed, going on 2 weeks for the AC. *You're forced to work with their schedule--if you're not available between 10am and 1pm on a Wednesday, you're out of luck--because "it clearly states in the contract that the consumer is responsible for making themselves available during regular business hours". COUNT ON MISSING SEVERAL DAYS OF WORK FOR EVEN THE SMALLEST ISSUE! How...HOW is this company still in business?

American Home Shield in Palm Springs, California - My pool equipment broke

Pool equipment broke on May 19th, 2014. It took 4 days for your first contractor to come out and say it was an electrical problem. I hired an electrician on my own to come out. He said it was the motor. You sent United States Pool Service for second opinion. It was the motor and you authorized replacement. When the motor was put in one week later they said the filter was cracked and not to use the motor. It took them 7 days to contact you and another 7 days to finally install the filter. Not 1 person would call me back to tell me a timetable. This has taken over a month and my pool looks like a cesspool. I think I will have to acid wash the pool to get it back in shape and that will cost me hundreds of dollars for a problem that is the fault of your contractor. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS WITH LOYAL CLIENTS!

Our filter actually blew up on August 12th - today, Sept. 2, we are still without a new filter!

Had to call AHS 4 times and the first pool company they sent about 5 times. Because the bottom of the filter capsule was totally broken, this company was going to replace the piece with an old one they had in their work shop; that is, they would patch *** (this is fiberglass), and then install it in my pool. The last conversation I had with them, I was told this piece "did not pass the test", that is the STRESS test. Meaning it was not deemed for installation.

I requested a second opinion after "ugly" fighting with AHS, whereas anyone answering the phone would not help me at all. They offered me a cash out buy of $160!! The old filter, cleaned by a pool company we have had for over 7 years, turned out to need 3 new grids. AHS was trying to tell me I did not need them ?

? ? How can a filter work when it's missing grids??

I asked for a second opinion - the second pool company called is scheduled to come in tomorrow to FINALLY replace the filter and the capsule!! My husband and I are so upset; our contract is up for renewal on October 8th: will phone them, ask to speak to a supervisor and inform AHS we are NOT RENEWING our contract of $778.00!!

Enough is enough, they cost us just about 3 weeks of stress and frustration not to mention we were not able to use our pool at all in this hot (humid) Texas weather!! They are great at taking our money, however when it comes to honor their contract with us, they try every way to avoid spending money!!

American Home Shield in Las Vegas, Nevada - Misleading contract

I selected the "additional spa" option. When I called for service on my "additional spa," they refused. Apparently, the spa is not on the pool pump, so it is not covered. I had to talk with five operators to get a clear explanation. No supervisor would come to the phone. Beware of whether or not the options you pay for are actually covered. I paid $80 for the "additional spa." Also, expect to get the run around if you have a complaint. I submitted an email complaint to the company, and never have received a response. Other problems: I was denied service because of an outstanding bill I had paid two weeks earlier via phone. At times, I have not been able to reach a live person at their published phone number. I had to get a different number from the company they sent out to do AC repair that was a direct line. Their website is clumsy and slow. I have been denied access to my contract on their website for some reason.

I had my first experience with AHS. They sent an HVAC company that clearly represented that there was a problem with the drip pan that needed to be replaced.

Of course, it's not covered. I called my HVAC company that I have used for years and that I trust. The problem: the coils were so dirty it backed up the system to a point that the condensation was dripping over the drip pan.

I'll try to get any unused portion of my premium returned to me. I don't know the point in using a company you can't trust and who, in my case, sent out an unqualified technician.
