American Home Shield in Tampa, Florida - Really bad service with AHS

Ii live in Fl and summer is hot. I have ahs. I called as my inside air cond unit was leaking. The rep on phone told me to shut off unit. I did. She told me she would put this call as an emergency. I waited hours no call. I called back another rep said one company could not come for a couple of days. I am sitting in a hot house. And she said she couldn't get hold of the second one on the list. Only two companies available which is ridiculous in this area which needs air cond. I asked her to try another zip code near my residence, and she still couldn't come up with any more. Then I was told I could get my own company as long as they called ahs to verify it was ok but I had to pay them for the call and then have company send in report and they would reimburse me. Another red tape bs. I did call a company myself and paid it . the problem was a clogged filter which the company fixed in little time. I am not bothering to send in for a remittance. If AHS doesn't have enough companies to service the areas in a timely manner then they shouldn't be telling customers they will always answer calls for service. Get more companies so you can service your customers. I have written a complaint to them and they never even responded to me. Great customer service.

American Home Shield is a misleading, unreliable, non caring company. 3 bad service calls in row! Last year, I had a toilet problem. AHS sent out a plumber and he tells me I need a clean out, but I "didn't have a clean out valve". This on a house built in 1990,...

American Home Shield is horrible

The file on my broken air conditioner was opened over 2 months ago. It is still not resolved. It is record heat and over 100 degrees in Tucson. There was a heat advisory for 37 straight days and is a danger to people and pets to be in the extreme heat. The unit has been serviced 9 times and now it is leaking and ruining the carpet and subfloor!! Advantage Air Mechanical has botched every repair including sodering *** in the coil. I have spent hundreds of dollars of my own money purchasing portable air conditioning units, having huge electric bills and now I will have to repair the carpet as well. They have not offered any compensation beyond $100. They have not even referred me to the next level of help or service. My case manager says that her supervisor is on vacation. This is totally inexcusable. I am furious. I have spent countless hours on the phone, composed e-mails, and even gone in person to Advantage Air so that I could talk to a manager. I have never been so frustrated in 20 years of doing business.
