The worst service ever. Took a month each to get a garage door opener and washer fixed. Customer service is nothing but rude. Took multiple trips to make repairs. Would not cancel our account. Do not use this company. It would be cheaper and easier to save your money and buy the item new when it broke. Even the the furnace would generally be 2 thousand dollars. That is about 2 years of this warranty.Call all complaints to Mark Barry at corporate 901-537-8000. He can also be reached at 901-525-3000, ask for the president's office to leave a message.

American Home Shield in Mission Viejo, California - Can't cancel and repairman are horrible

Had an electrician come out because my sparks are coming out of my outlet and he said it's because I'm plugging things in too slow! Where's my money was his next question.. Seriously? 5 minutes and 75.00! I called two weeks before contract was up and told them I didn't want it. The customer service clerk was helpful and said not worry, they wouldn't charge my card. I get a new contract in the mail today. Called them and said I cancelled. One guy put me on hold for over 10 minutes then transferred me to the department that had just closed for the day. Called back and was told I would have to speak to some department. Said I didn't answer their call so they renewed it. I told them I never received a call back from them. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told she had to send her an e-mail and then would contact me. Told her this all sounded like a scam. Said I was going to get this charge off my credit card and she threatened to send me to collections! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I have waited a week and all I'm told is they are trying to locate a technician. Try heating water on the stove a week for baths, etc. ugh!

American Home Shield in Tampa, Florida - They suck!

I had a problem with my AC not cooling. The service tech that came out pushed me to purchase a new unit as soon as I said I wanted mine repair. He said he had to return and collected my out of pocket service fee. I never heard back from him nor his company I then received a call from American home shield letting me know that my repair would not be covered because it appeared to be pre existing. I canceled my policy and they would not return any of my premiums. DO NOT BELIEVE THE LIES THEY ADVERTISE!!!!!

American Home Shield - Incompetent Plumber Review

I have had three service calls, not one service was completed without some outragious out of pocket expense from the contractor. The plumber said 380 for a leak. Guess what I am a plumber and fixed the problem in 12 minutes while he was out on the phone smoking one of my ciggerettes and drinking one of my cherry cokes. I have just cancelled my contract with #AmericanHomeshield for the SECOND TIME. They brought me back as a customer claiming improved service and contractors, and I have just spent over 2 weeks trying to get a service request completed with them with no satisfaction. Their #contractor came out and left without finishing the job, and for the last week, after at least 5 hours on the phone with different departments, American Home Shield NEVER said, "We'll send someone out to make it right." They preferred to allow me to cancel my contract than to do the right thing.

I have taken the home protection plan 2 years ago. I never requested any service in last 2 years from AHS. First time, I called them for small plumbing problems and they asked me to contact their assigned local plumber. I contacted the plumber who is not organized and with rudeness! In the first instance, I realized that it may be hard to work with that plumber. Then, I called back AHS and asked them 'Can you assign some other plumber"? AHS refused it and forced me to work with the plumber who messed with our appointments and other things. I asked AHS, "Are you forcing me to work with the particular plumber?" The AHS said, we are not forcing you. You can get your own plumber and pay from your pocket, etc., I had enough with them and now I cancelled the protection plan with AHS... Horrible and worst customer service with attitude! I have been sharing my experience with my friends and relatives all over US. GOOD BYE AHS
