American Home Shield in Cary, North Carolina - Don't use Carolina Air if AHS tries to send them

This company is a bunch of crooks. They were the company AHS sent over to fix our heat. A guy name Roger came, if he comes to your house don't let him in, he's a crook. He told us that if it was him he would not fix the unit as it was not worth the price since it was 20 years old. We asked him if he would tell AHS that and he said no because they would ask for a second opinion and he would not get the work. He had no service over to give us so we got him to write this on a piece of paper then he went ahead and told AHS that we were not maintaining the unit so they turned the repair down. We got t a second opinion from another company and they ended up fixing the unit. This guy Roger knew that he was not going to get the work and he lied to AHS so we would not get the repair done. So we had to go without heat for 20 days to get this corrected by another company. If AHS tries to send them ask for another company.

I have had American home shield for about 5 years now. And they are top notch! Many systems have had to be fixed and a couple replaced. No run around. Just great service!

American Home Shield in Gilbert, Arizona - They don't mind losing customers

I was with the company about a year and a half and was pretty satisfied. I just got off the phone with them to add service and they were very unhelpful. After 1 1/2 hours on hold they stated I had to cancel my contract and then 15 days later start a new contract. I don't know about anyone else but I don't have the time to sit on hold waiting for customer service. When I told the gentleman if I cancel I will end up taking my business elsewhere he said that is fine. There are too many home warrenty companies out there to waste my time. So that is what I am doing.

American Home Shield - Unfair billing even after the contract is not renewed

I called american home insurance couple of times. Everytime there was a wait of over 15 minutes.. Finally I spoke to customer service to discontinue my warranty. She confirmed and she also mentioned she is removing my credit card from the file so I will surely not be billed. But I am still getting billed from them . Tried calling them back, but the wait has been over 25 minutes. Tried calling them again yesterday but the was holding for 20 minutes before I decided to hang up. I would say to anyone getting their service is to be careful with their billing team

Just call your credit card company and dispute the charges. Let the bank take care of this.

CONTRACT ON 2 HOMES WAS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL THE DATE THEY TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I CANCELLED THE DAY IT WAS E MAILED TO ME BUT WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY. i HAVE NEVER BEEN EXPOSED TO SUCH BLATANT DISREGARD FOR BUSINESS ETHICS. THIS IS PART OF A LARGE GROUP OF AFFILIATES AND I WONDER IF ALL THE COMPANIES TREAT CUSTOMERS THIS POORLY. IS IT LEGAL TO HOLD A CONTRACT FROM VIEW UNTIL AFTER THE PAYMENT IS MADE? 8 weeks broken dishwasher, 2 contractors and 5 visits later both report un-repairable, but AHS tells me they are sending a 3rd Not only are the service contractors generally inexperienced moonlighters, and most difficult to schedule, but AHS does not accept their response to them either. AHS indeed hopes I will tire of washing dishes by hand family of 5 for 8++ weeks, and I may, but I am filing grievances everywhere, and filing disputes with VISA to recover all premiums due to them not honoring the spirit of the contract, and clearly making all attempts to delay, avoid, and dishonor the service request. I do wish I had time and $ for legal action. This business continues to be fraudulent, and unregulated. I only carry this policy for catastrophe (like an A/C system), but their attempts to stay their course with their insane practices all to avoid honoring is the name of their game. Your time is simply not worth this fight. Stay away. I intend to resolve this and battler for the consumer, and fully intend to cancel the policy and do whatever it takes to defend my rights as the consumer screwed.

American Home Shield in Bear, Delaware - Heating breakdown

Called AHS to report my gas heater had stopped working. They informed me a tech would return my call. No call Back. I got the name of the contractor and called and left a message. No call back. Called AHS back and since it's sub zero weather she said she would put claim in as an emergency. Also put online request in. I was supposed to hear back in 4 hours or less. Next day....still no response! CAlled AHS and spoke to an agent who kept pausing. When she spoke and I kept saying," Are u still there"? And said well really, you can call your own contractor, and submit your claim to repairs and well go over it and re-emburse you if we decide your claim is payable. IF? So I asked to speak to her manager. Also had to put in a request for that and they would get back to me. Hung up called back to speak to another agent who might possibly take pity on me. She said she would call another co. And see if they would return her call. As of now they don't have anyone and no response. I have no choice but to call my own contractor or my pipes will freeze.

Don't buy a contract with these people. You would be better served just to set your money on fire. This company is totally pathetic. Their customer service is unprofessional and unhelpful. The contractors who they work with are incompetent at best. Their response times are glacial. What you save on repairs is not worth the extra time and frustration that you have to go through to get something fixed. It came as little surprise to me that they have been sued for denying valid claims. I would bet my last dollar that the CEO of this company doesn't use his own product. There is no way he would wait 4 days to get his hot water heater fixed. And since he had stolen so many people's money, he can afford to hire a prompt, professional contractor. My landlord bought the policy as he lives about 3 hours away (by plane). While I know he meant well honestly the next time something breaks I am just going to pay to have it fixed myself.
