American Home Shield in Charlotte, North Carolina - We're Not Valued Clients

AHS claims that we are valued clients, but we remain on hold for half an hour simply to reach a representative when their automated answering system fails to address our needs. Then they will do nothing for you when the contractor they chose to examine your air conditioning problem tells you it will take five days to send some one out to check your system. You complain to AHS but they tell you they can do nothing. This is after their same contractor came out once before but could not resolve the problem. When you try to find a link to an AHS complaint department, you find nothing. It's clear they don't want to hear from their "valued clients" but would rather keep their heads buried in the sand. Not the way to run a company.

prior customer had air conditioning issue for 1 week. I had the same issue and after two weeks was not resolved.

Despite the extremely high temperatures that have/continue to compromise my health, AHS refuses to do anything to resolve the problem -- telling me I must wait for the part ordered by the service company.

I cannot hire anyone else and they will not assign anyone else, and no-one can say how long before this part becomes available. Customer service reps at AHS refuse to refer my calls to supervisors, and when so doing, the so-called supervisor says nothing can be done.

American Home Shield in Essex, Maryland - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Air went out on Saturday the 12th.When I called A H S it took me 33 min. on hold. I explained the problem and the lady asked me a few questions and I asked her if they had same day service, her reply with out asking any questions was we do not guarantee that and disconnected me. She sent me the info. on the company to set up a time, the lady had no idea what I was even talking about. Today is Tuesday the 16th, and still no air. I have been with this company over 15 yrs. and it seems to have really changed the last few years.

American Home Shield in Corpus Christi, Texas - THIEVES

American Home Shield covers absolutely NOTHING! They are quick to schedule a service ,but no one is willing to tell you if you have coverage for the specific need. They must send out a "trained professional" before they will deny (because they rarely cover) your issue. My stove top was not covered, pool light (electrical) not covered, above ground pool plumbing denied. Everyone involved makes money at the home owners expense. Customer service agents are clueless about policy and there does not seem to exist any policy experts or supervisors with whom you can speak. This business practice is a scam!!

American Home Shield in Plano, Texas - CONSUMER BEWARE OF AHS

A 20 year customer of AHS and our water heater went out last week a contractor Bacon Plumbing of Rowlett, Tx was sent who opined the heater replacement, but AHS want us to pay $850.00 as the contractor wants to install the heater, while all things they say it needs changing is already there and working properly and after checking with the city of Plano, TX it is up to the code, they are now claiming these are not installation but modification which they are not paying for, while every contractor we called (5 of them) have an installation charge of $220-500, and that includes Sears. AHS is blackmailing us by saying either their contractor replaces the unit and we have to pay $850.00 out of pocket for installation or they will not pay and their warranty is void because we did not use their greedy dishonest contractor. will file a suit in court and cancel contract with them which is due in 2 weeks.

I am very disappointed in this home warranty. It jas done nothing but cost me money. I would not recommend anyone using this company. I have called them for 3 problems and instead of fixing them they charged me the $75 fee each time and said it was "fixed" or not covered. Now my wood floor is ruined because they did not Fix the leak like they said.

So far. THE WORST.

I am VERY unhappy with my warranty company for using nonlocal services. I was quoted a time between 12-5 Friday. No show. I call office- they are closed.

AT 8:00 PM, a plumber shows up. Very inappropriate with his comments and innuendos. He was very aggressive toward our dog. Dogs can certainly read people.

He promptly unscrews the faucet in the tub and lets me know he will have to order parts. Asks if he could come back on Sunday. I asked for a card and he looks me up and down and laughs. I don't even know the guys name or number.

Sunday comes and goes and once again. No show. I call Monday morning - Brooke was very nice but she put in touch with "supervisor" Jeff. He was very condescending.

He spoke over me and let me know that since it was a "1970s" shower, parts had to be specially ordered. Asked me when the tech could come back. I told him I don't want that particular tech to come back and he basically told me too bad. So " when do you want us to fix the problem"?

Well today is Monday, I have had a steady stream of water since your tech left and Monday would be great." Jeff- Sorry, cant do today - it is impossible. " ok - " when is it convenient for you JEFF?" ............ Now he has to check with the technician and make sure he has all of the parts and will have to get back with me. Calls me back this afternoon and tells me THURSDAY is the soonest.

ALMOST ONE WEEK LATER. ONE WEEK OF STEADY STREAMING WATER THAT THE TECHNICIAN CAUSED. I have asked a friend to be home with me who has a concealed permit - THIS IS HOW UNEASY I am with this tech. AGAIN, they don't provide a name, number and since he is not local, he can do what ever and just hightail out of the area.

I am FURIOUS. We had positive experiences with HVAC techs- this company is poorly run, very unprofessional and definitely hire incompetent and questionable plumbers.

American Home Shield, Help me understand why I should renew my contract?

1.0
Details
I am writing about my air conditioner problem with American Home Shield for it is not working and is leaking water. They have sent many companies out, all the technicians’ state the unit is very old, rusted, improper installed, and needs to be replaced do to age. The unit was installed by American Home Shield over 20 years ago and they have been the only service company I have used. Now they sent a letter stating they will not cover the A/C due to “improper installation”. I try to explain to them they installed it and this is the first I’m hearing about the installation issue. I have been a faithful customer for over 21 years paying the yearly contract amount. (*** ME) Since I live in, Houston Texas. and have my elderly mother here, I cannot be without A/C.This week I purchased and installed a new 4 ton A/C $6500 . Tom Taylor called today 6/14/2015 from AHS told me " there nothing we will do about it you are on your own!
