American Home Shield in Dallas, Texas - DO NOT EVERY BUY A WARRANT FROM THIS COMPANY

Had claim for cracked toilet that was leaking - after 2 weeks and being put on hold for 25 to 45 minutes finally found out my claim was denied. It was not normal wear and tear. I mean, seriously, how do you crack a toilet? This is the second time AHS has failed me. Had a leak in the dishwasher - they sent a plumber - cost $100 - plumber said it need an appliance repair person - that would have been another $100! We just paid to put a new one in. It would have been more expensive and all they would have done was try to fix it when it was so old it needed replacement. Horrible! Horrible company! I've been paying appx $50/month for over 3 years and this is what I get ? Unbelieveable.

WHAT BUNCH OF *** THE CONTRACTORS THEY DO BUSINESS WITH! DO NOT, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! TRY OLD REPUBLIC HOME WARRANTY, THEY ARE NATIONWIDE! THERE IS A REASON WHY. MY A/C BROKE DOWN, IN GEORGIA. THE 1ST CONTRACTOR -THERMAL TECH- SO RUDE THAT COULDN'T GIVE ME AN APPOINTMENT TO COME OUT & LOOK @ A/C UNIT. THE 2ND, PIEDMONT CONTRACTORS, WHAT A JOKE. I WAS CHARGED THE $100 TO COME OUT & LOOK @ THE UNIT. JUST TO TELL ME THAT I NEED A "NEW" A/C UNIT & "IT'LL COST ME ABOUT $5,000 - $6,000" REALLY? I FOUND & HIRED AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR!!! HE FIXED MY A/C UNIT IN ONE (1) DAY FOR ONLY $430.00!!! I'M CANCELING AHS & ASKING 4 MY MONEY BACK= TOTAL OF $483.30!

American Home Shield in Las Vegas, Nevada - Poor Customer Service; on hold each time for 25 minutes

The WORST company; do NOT use. Each time I call I have to sit on hold for at least 25 minutes, only then to speak with an unhelpful representative who reads from a script. I had a toilet leak, so AHS sent out a repair agent, who apparently didn't fix the leak. So I called back to have AHS send out somebody who could fix it. Jasmin kept repeating that they would send someone out but it would cost me another $75 service fee. She wouldn't listen to me that the leak was never fixed. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, she was "unavailable". I left the supervisor a vm, and I also sent an email via the AHS website, but have never heard back from either of them. I would call back, but would be on hold for another 25 minutes!

American Home Shield in Orillia, Ontario - No customer service; conflicting information; caught in run-around

In a period of 3 days, four different representatives have given me four different and conflicting status updates regarding a service request placed 8 days ago. Twice they have escalated my enquiry/complaint to a supervisor but said there was really no point because the company was so busy the supervisors are having to man the phones for general enquiries. And because this is a busy time of year for contractors, they have no idea when my repair will happen. Gee, AHS, I'm sorry that my heat pump malfunctioned at a busy time of year ... but get this, your company's busyness and the fact that it's a busy time of year isn't my problem ... that's why we have a home warranty to provide us with peace of mind in case things break down! Unfortunately, we'll probably just chalk this up to bad judgement on our part and pay out-of-pocket for someone else to do the work. Meanwhile, I'll be hitting every public platform I can to tell people not to waste their money on an AHS warranty. Truthful reporting, consistency of information, integrity, and a little empathy for the customer (my average 'hold' time on the phone as 24 minutes, and twice I had to call back because they didn't call me back when they said they would) would go a long way.

American Home Shield in Ashburn, Virginia - AC issue

A month and a half of them going back and forth and we still don't have AC. I was then told they are a repair company not really replacement. The contract says repair or replace. Every time I called I was on hold for over 30 mins. Supervisors never called back because they are so busy. Contractors in the are won't deal with them so they sent someone from another state and that contractor didn't even have the right equipment. Worst company EVER! We still have no end in site to our AC repair. Customer service people are basically not able to say anything and are friendly once you get through but are limited as to how they can help.

American Home Shield in Midlothian, Texas - Saves NO MONEY, horrible service, huge run around

first of all their policy to choose a local company, but not to look for the soonest avail. It is June in TEXAS! The local tech came out and sd the compressor was bad. AHS ordered one & had it sent to the local contractor. Once it arrived 3 days later they called to sched appt. After appt set, AHS called and told me there would be additional charges for rewiring to make it fit because it was not exact same one. I asked why and they sd the Trane compressor was no longer avail. I, & a couple of lic contractors called Trane & they have several of the exact part on hand now. I called & told AHS and they said "their policy" is not to get exact part & I'm responsible for modifications to make it fit. I griped and complained and they sd I could pay the difference for the right part. Still complained then they sd I could do cash out/opt out but it would be 3 more days for them to tell me the amount for that. Horrible service. Seems they want to make sure you have to spend out of pocket as much or more than they have to out out!

American Home Shield - Deducted mo payment from my checking acct 3 times this month

On the phone 4 times, on hold 38 min last time, explained they hit my acct 3 times this mo. Repr. put me on hold again to check on it and never came back on line after 8 min. Totally unacceptable. I've had their service 3 yrs and unless they correct the billing matter, I will cancel and never use them again. They simply do no care. They are in error with billing me 3 times this month and won't even take time to correct the error or to discuss it beyond listening...then go on to another complaint, leaving me to eventually hang up and not bother them

Freon: AHS Only covers the first $10 out of $60 per pound and if I need 6 lbs of freon, I will have to pay $300 and AHS will only pay a whole whopping $60. Excuse me, don't I already pay for the AHS WARRANTY to cover these hidden "costs". Whats the point of continuing...

It’s sad and pathetic that these warranty companies hire contractors who are savvy, not savvy, some work some don’t, some don’t even know what they are doing and they still charge the customer for showing up to just say... (don’t see nothing wrong with the unit
