Absolutely useless customer service, every rep I talked to screwed up my request (account changes, incorrect billing, cancellation, you name it) You need 2-3 calls at 30 minute plus wasting your time waiting on hold. The reps won't give you any contact with management. They say they'll call you back, never do. They say they'll send you confirmation of whatever change they just messed up, and of course they never do so you have to call again. There is no other way to contact them. Online contact form just clears when you hit submit. They're all poorly trained useless idiots.

Website does not work for renewals - they want me to pay again

I renewed and paid AHS for 12 months today. Immediately my new contract said I had to wait 30 days before I could claim. All I did was renew with a chatline rep standing by and walking me through the system. Now AHS is saying I have to pay again as I did not renew correctly and took out a new contract. I do not know what to do. They keep saying to look for a renew now red tag on my home page but it is not there. I have spent 1.5 hours trying to comply and pay again. Everytime I attempt to contact or pay AHS it costs me hours and hours for nothing. I am so frustrated.

Two charges for same service

I called AHS for a plumbing issue and was forced to shut my water off at the street level to my residence. When we called we were told we met the expedited service call and when we called back we were told 24 hours and the temps outside were at 13 degrees which could cause a pipe burst. We fixed our the problem ourselves and called to cancel the call and requested that the service call fee is refunded to us within 24 hours and they accepted the payment with a Visa card and they charged our bank card for the service request fee. When we called to tell them this occurred we were given the run around told it would be 48 hours before the refund of the bank charge.

Lazy and unprofessional

Harry Bordt was dispatched to my home to fix a broken faucet, he checked everything out and told me the handle was badly corroded and the faucet needed to be replaced. He left to purchase the the faucet and I never saw him again. American Home Shield called that night and stated Harry told them there was an illegal hook-up and due to misuse the faucet was damaged, therefore they would not cover the repair. I asked that they send out another plumber for a second opinion and they took pictures of the badly corroded handle and later got the okay to do the repairs. Gator Drain and Plumbing is a good company who stood by me, conveyed the truth and did a great job replacing the faucet. If harry did not want the job, then why lie and made me almost lost coverage. Please fokes there are good plumbers out there, stick to companies and not Harry Bordt LLC.

Hi I want our $ back ! We bought your policy in July fort a new house. Oh so nice and helpful when taking our $! We tried to get service in September 2017. Plumber and electrician came out informed us of problems and they would let you know. October 28 I get email work is done. Called waited requisite 1hour plus to be told they would call them ! November 25? Get email work is done plus get a bill for $100 for plumber. We call plumber and he states he hasn't been contacted. So now on my requisite 1hour plus phone call? Misled by american home shield

spoke with rep on phone, she repeatedly said everything was covered including our pool pump, signed up for auto pay, a couple of weeks later a email came thanking us for signing up with them and to view our contract click here, which we did not do. 6 months later our washer broke, we called in and they told our washer was not covered, they said we chose a pick 10 policy and did not pick the washer to be covered but the dryer was, (who would do that) we did not pick 10 things to be covered because the rep said we had full coverage including our pool pump

Extremely low yearly contract pricing. Have attempted to utilize them on three occasions one oven two for same dishwasher Service company came to property could not repair item, we had to pay an upfront 100 fee. Told company had to order parts, company never followed up after four weeks. Called service company no answer no returned calls. Called AHS they stated all calls were canceled. Bottom line this company is happy to collect your premiums but when it comes to claims no service.

Feel Trapped with American Home Shield

I feel trapped with AHS. I make payment every month but when I need them it is a nightmare. Even the very first step of contacting them is not easy. If you call them it is always "due heavy call volume your wait will more than 30 minutes or one hour". Their state-of-the-art online service is a horrible experience. Once you fill it up after some back and forth if you are lucky. At most of time it either could not find my contract or it says that it expired. So I had to call them and wait for a minimum of 45 minutes. I cannot believe that they are not aware of their horrible customer service. They know that as they almost have monopoly in this field they can get away with anything. I have just scratched the surface. If your appliance need some major repairs or replacement. You will end up having high blood pressure due to the stress they get you in. It took me two months for replacement of my dishwasher with God only knows how many stressful hours on phone. You will not find any place on their website to contact them via email. Obviously the top Executives are not interested in our feedback except for their fat salaries and bonuses and stocks.

I am on the same boat with you. We have home insurance which covered all appliances in the house.

Washing machine is so old and stopped working over a month ago. They sent AT appliances to fix.

It's over a month now and issue still not fixed. I called the number on the contract to speak to a representative but it's almost one hour now and am still on hold.

Weve had AHS for over 20years & the last few have been horrific. Customer service is a complete fiasco, unreliable.

Doesnt keep their word, seems so big not one dept kniwd what the other had said or done, you have to speak to multiple people everytime with no resolution.

We wont renew again, were done with them. Since Tim Haynes became CEO their "Customer Service " id non existant, if you are unhappy...they just hang up on you..And we PAY for this....really?

Horrible Horrible Horrible Customer Service

The customer service at at American Home Shield (AHS) is horrible. I have tried several times to get them to credit my bank account for billing me twice in one month and they have not done that. I have called them several times. One I waiting about 30 minutes to talk to someone and then I was asked to provide documentation which I did (fax bank debits over), waited and nothing happened. I called again a week later, supposedly system was down for some agents and for some it wasn't so they couldn't help me, they told me to call back and get another agent. Third call same thing, system down, couldn't help me, agent took down my information and supposedly walked it over to another agent that had access to system so they could call me back. Never got a call back. Called again, spoke with someone else, different call center, they couldn't even verify my fax got to them, and said I couldn't speak to anyone in billing because they don't have a direct line that's BS. So I faxed information in again, maybe this time they will take care of it. I doubt it, I will just have to call my bank to dispute charges.

American Home Shield - Fraud and conspiracy to Defraud

Middle of the night bathroom call, splashing through water flooding the bathroom and bedroom adjacent to it. So I shut off the water from the outside and looked up my AHS policy, since the home came with the policy. Plumber showed up 3days later, at 5pm. Sure enough he said it was water, duh, had me call his buddies who did water damage remediation. Well the plumber took off before, he had to do any work. At least these guys found the source, sewer was backed up!! Ugh. The plumber was too lazy to even look for the source. They did get it cleaned up and dried out 2 days later. Plumber would not schedule a visit until AFTER they had Finished their work! Okay scheduled the plumber again, and 3 more day later, PS - The Water is STILL turned OFF!!!! He had to be told the problem was the sewer backed-up! After 30 min of pushing his Camera down the sewer pipe, he said he could not SEE anything but he could not clear it!! My Policy states they will clear a blockage within the first 100 feet from the home, good my drain was only 80 feet to the sewer main. Next morning tired of NO WATER, I called a real plumber, it was cleared in 45 minutes, he also showed me what the problem was, a root had caused the stoppage. After My wife and I called and talked to the AHS person in charge we were informed they would not pay for a REAL plumber only their Co-Conspirators and we had to go through their system of referrals. The first plumber was a liar and fraud, why would I use them AGAIN? We had NO WATER people!!! See what a conspiracy to Defraud Looks like? We were on the phone for an hour, and they refused to acknowledge their liability to perform per their Contract! Here is the Key, the Plumber got paid when he showed up and filled out the paperwork saying 'It can't be fixed". He figured out he does not have to work to get paid, and their lies the problem. AHS and their referral partners are FRAUD. It takes them both, so the Conspiracy to defraud! The Real Estate community needs to know the extra bonus they are providing is merely FRAUD.

Why Call Home Shield for Service? #22352**** Contrct#

Called in service for master bath toilet...wasn't flushing and the water tank was not filling...Went on line on Sunday January 14...got confirmation from Value Rooter Corp. I called them and they confirmed that January 16 2018 Tuesday...well it was icy on roads..no one called to reconfirm for Wednesday...Did not come Wednesday..left front porch light on until 8:00 P.M. I had called and they said he was on his way....never showed.. Called on Thursday...same thing ....but another service man was coming...did not come...no call....could not get through on phone any day that week ...l to 2 hour wait.. went online on the 19 and cancelled the call.....This company is very poorly run....They come out of a town that is about 75 miles from my home....someone in my home got in there and worked to fix it.....I am very very disappointed in Home Shield...they use service people that are not even close to being local...and brand new people (IT APPEARS). Been a customer of Home Shield for approx. 20 years...

AHS does not answer the phone or respond to customer complaints. I have called 5 times about my faulty oven since November 13, and each time been on hold for over 1hour 30minutes. Each service person that has come over to fix the issue has either had an excuse of why they are unable to complete their job and I have had to call AHS and wait on hold. AHS is the worst company with no care for their customers. They are a complete scam. Don’t trust that they will ever fix any appliance or provide replacement. I do not believe the company ever intend to fix/replace my oven dispite it being under contract.

Each time that I have had a claim with American home Shield I have to wait on the telephone for an average of two hours to speak to someone in service. I have recently been without heat for more than two weeks and subzero temperatures. This company needs to be punished.

I'm Surprised There's Not A Class Action Against AHS for Fraud

AVOID AHS LIKE THE PLAGUE! 12 total hours holding on the phone over 9 calls spanning two weeks...

3 separate contractors sent to the house for a water heater replacement (was actively leaking)... the first two quit because AHS was yanking their chain... the last one I got authorization to use (called outside authorization). I paid for the work to be done out of pocket, job completed, repair invoice mailed (to AHS.

Attn. Outside Authorizations Po box 171354 Memphis, TN 38187) as instructed. Three weeks have passed, no reimbursement has arrived. Called in to get a status, waited 50 minutes to talk to a rep who said they never received the invoice, then put me on hold for 20 more minutes, only to hang up on me when trying to pick up the line again.

At what point do you make the assessment that the company is trying to defraud their customers?

They make it so incredibly difficult to get resolution (holding for hours and getting disconnected routinely), all indications are that they have no intent to make good on their end of the contract. Makes the VA look good, if that tells you anything.

Same thing here with my moms A/C unit. Called in for service and they indicated that it was too hot out and that they did not have any technicians in our area to send to her house.

I took it upon myself to call a reputable contractor to come and see what the problem was. He indicated that it would be a major fix. I sent all the paperwork to AHS, plus my contractor called and indicated what the issue was. We ended up getting a new unit for $9000 from my contractor and we received a check in the mail from AHS for $36.

No I am not missing zeros! Yes $36.

Will not let you talk to outside authorization because I am not a contractor. Worst company on the planet.
