When we bought our new home we were delighted to learn that it came with a home warranty on all major appliances. Wow, were we naive. Shortly after moving in our refrigerator died. We quickly called American Home Shield (AHS) to see what could be done. Then informed us that they would send a tech out to see if it could be repaired. The tech came out and told us the fridge needed a new compressor... Read more

Horrible service. Customer service sucks. They scheduled an appointment that I called and confirmed with them the prior day. I wait all morning for the plumber and he's a no show. I called the service number and they tell me since I didn't confirm the appt the plumber went to another job and won't be able to service me today. Not to mention I 've waited all week for this appt and I'd already... Read more

This company is horrible. I had a service person come out twice to repair my washing machine and both times parts had to be ordered. time. The service guy said he would be back on Monday and never showed up so I then called only to be told the part they needed now was on order and wouldn't be in for 5 weeks. So in total I am out of a washing machine for 2 months. Asked if I could get... Read more

Our water heater blew a leak, and we currently have water pouring down the exterior wall of our home, through an attic, and our light sockets under the attic heater. We called American Home Shield (for the second time in our contract with them- the first was also a clusterfuck). They told us there is nothing that can be donde tonight. They upgraded our issue to "expedited" which means someone... Read more

My home was flooding due to a broken water heater. AHS was notified, said someone would contact me within 24-48 hours. I said this was unacceptable because my home was flooding. I told them I was going to call a plumber myself. They said to have him submit a bid. I told them there was no time for that and I had to have my plumbing fixed asap. I sent them the bill ($192.00) for the repair and... Read more

Horrible service. Never go with them Add comment

First time I have to get anything repaired (my build in microwave- Sears from 1989) the cost to repair is $320 they give me the option to repair it or give me up to $308 for replacement. Of course when they order one "direct from whirlpool the cost is $339- $100 more than lower or home depot and that doesn't include installation or the disposal costs of the broken one so I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE...
