Had a major leak from the Expansion tank over the water heater--NOT COVERED by AHS, even though you can't have the hot water heater without the expansion tank! They only cover the tank itself. There are too many non-covered items (mainly the ones that break most frequently), so it's not worth the money you spend on this policy. Had water leaking from AC today (Sat.)--was on hold for 25 minutes,... Read more

Payed too many $75 service calls to find out they don't really fix much of anything. We are NOT renewing. Add comment

Our clothes dryer has been non-functional for almost a month (3.5 weeks). It is still not working. Placed initial call on March 18. Tech came out within a couple of days, said diagnosis needed parts ordered. Tech was supposed to come back on March 26. Tech never came out (I had taken off work). Tech came out March 27 instead (another day off work). Claimed he fixed the issue, and ran the dryer... Read more

First of all they got to where they now leave you on hold for 15-18 mins. They didn't use to do that. Also their once friendly representatives have changed to arrogant and rude. And to add insult to injury, they are now a big waste of money as they don't cover anywhere near the things they use to. Example: Hot water heater went out. I called AHS and after 15 mins(the first time) on hold, finally... Read more

Been an AHS customer for 11 years. AC/Heat pump condenser (Trane) was replaced with junk (Air Temp), and has had a freon leak for 5 years - along with many other problems. Electric bill jumped avg. $120 per month! Now unit is SHOT. AHS sends contractor that wants $2558 in additional uncovered costs to install lowest end cheap SEER 13 unit available! Contractor will not return calls to "negotiate"... Read more

Called AHS to get a contractor out to fix my heating/cooling system - thinking it's just the thermostat - the contractor called me shortly thereafter, but I couldn't make the appointment until the following week, as that would be my day off. Contractor refused to schedule one - kept telling me they would call me the day before - why couldn't they schedule the appointment?? - very confused, so... Read more

I had AHS back in 1999 and cancelled because they kept giving me the runaround. Recently starting real estate investments, and a friend said that AHS has improved. THEY HAVE NOT! I was told that I could call back anytime if I had questions, or to cancel before March 3. After several calls at different times of day, each which I was on hold for more than 15 minutes and still no answer, I sent AHS... Read more

I referred American Home Shield home warranty to my buyers of a home in Littleton CO and they have not covered any of the four claims that my clients have called on. One was a water leak flooding their basement from a sump pump issue and they could not get any of their contractors to show up for 4 days and would not let my client call their own to stop the basement from flooding and cover it. ...
